Benthic gear

So nobody is talking about them? What do you think about? I simply love the idea and concept. Having a gear with stats i like and put all my effort to upgrade it. It’s awesome.
I wish we will have that in great scale in the future instead of RNG.

Totes agree with this. Yeah, it was definitely a pleasant surprise, and then it got even better when they showed me how to upgrade it. It’s nice to have an alternative to gear if you don’t like running dungeons/raids, or just have plain terrible luck and drop nothing like me. I do hope they continue with this kind of thing in the future for sure.

Upgraded gloves after an eternity of 400 ilvl, so that really put benthic in a good spot in my book.

Also sent a few unopened 385 pieces to a 110 druid im leveling.

Not sure if i haven’t made a mistake tho, i’m left with 31 pearls and i need to have 75 to buy something from some npc that allegedly unlocks new crafting.

They’ve been dead for the past couple expacs, this is nothing new.

Not to this degree, this is the final blow.

I can send it to alts? Sweet!

I haven’t upgraded anything yet but the first quest requirement. All I do with it is to gear alts which is extremely handy.

They have been dead for a few years now. I can see them eventually getting rid of them altogether with the excuse that few players use them even though the reason few players use them is that in each expansion since TBC they have made them less useful.

Especially with the random stats.
Profession can and should be still useful.
Think about a WoW where you have Benthic gear. Let’s say a cloth belt with hast and crit and socket. Enchanting can do enchants on that, jewellers can craft gems, tailoring can create benthic upgrades or even better a +13haste to augment the belt. There are a lot of possibilities.

And raids? Get rid of gear RNG and add more of this ‘random’ benthic upgrades. Benthic upgrade 430 for chest (ah my chest is already 430 for example, that’s unlucky, well I pass it to a raid mate who needs) this is the RNG I want. No warforging, no titanforging, no random stats, no chance for socket. Game must be engaging not a freaking roulette machine. I want to create my hero not being created by luck.

Except the expansion is the worst we’ve had for alts so far. So much stuff to do again and again.

I like that you can send the stuff to your alts. I’ve not done so yet but should I need to, I can

I only have one alt, so not really an issue for me  and i also do nothing serious with my chars so i dont bother with the whole azerite grind system.

Take BS, tailoring or LW. What can they now make to sell? Mount equipment nobody will ever switch out? Since you can just spend 55 pearls and get a full set of 385 gear and get a free 370 weapon from a quest. So we are down to 310 rings and a single 355 trinket. Which are useless because 385 set will boost your IL making those WQ ones better. I honestly don’t know why they don’t outright remove all professions except herbing, alchemy, mining, JC and enchanting. Even JC is bad (random sockets, no more mutple sockets per piece of gear) and enchanting is just 2 slots (weapon and rings)…

I like a lot of things about the feature, but sadly it will get outdated really fast due to the 425 ilvl limitation.

I hope the direction team decides to go bolder with mechanics like this. For now, it’s a great preparation and overall engaging mechanic for the upcoming season.
