Best 5 Man Setup for Heroic Dungeon-Farming?

Hi,

what do you think is the best 5 man setup for heroic dungeon farming?
I will play TBC with 4 friends . Currently we have a Pala and 3 WL at LVL 60.

Is Prot Pala + 3 Shadow WL and Priest Healer a good 5-man comp?

I didn’t play TBC so I have absolutly no clue.

Thanks for help

If the healer is your only flexible player, i’d recommend a shaman as your best option

For heroic farming i would rather have the 3 warlocks go Demonology with 3 felguards tbh. Shadow destro is more of a raid spec. But seed spam is still the greatest aoe in the game  prot paladin is BiS. For healer i would rather have a resto shaman.

Thanks

We are not locked to 3 WL as dps - if needed someone of us will level an other dps

It’s all about the best heroic comp.

Tank
Healer
DPS with CC
What I find pretty good for a farming heroic group, especially in the start when you’re not that geared yet, just my own opinion really.

What is a good setup for heroics will vary depending on the layout and difficulty of the dungeon. There is pretty large gap in difficulty between the different heroics.

From testing on beta, with the current gear level aoeing everything feels ineffective, cause tank is taking a beating, simply aoeing kills many targets slowly, so every enemy get more time to hit the tank, draining healer mana and risking tank death, so for the most part i’ve seen more efficiency in simply single target nuking down one mob at a time over just aoe.
Once you reach higher gear levels so that the tank can pull several trash packs at once and aoe, then we will see the effect of aoe being higher.

Seeds are strong, but i’ve had it reported from my guildies that they sometimes feel that the seeds dont stack if they put seed on same target, thus causing only one of them to explode, have not done proper testing on this but just something the warlocks were discussing.

From my understanding, you will be better off if you balance your group for some aoe, and some burst single target dps, that way you can take down priority targets quickly, and still have good aoe on top.

Either Spellcleave or Meleecleave then i’d say.

  • Prot Pala, Restoshaman, Lock, Lock, Mage
Kite, AoE, drink, repeat (Mage for CC/Slows)

  • Prot Pala, any healer(Priest or Druid pref for buff coverage), Lock, Ele shaman, Mage
Kite, AoE, drink, repeat (Mage for CC/Slows)

  • Feral Tank, Holy Pala, Hunter, Fury Warrior, Enhance Shaman
Feral for 5% Crit, Pala for Salvation, Shaman for Totems, Warrior for cleave, Hunter for Singletarget DPS, CC, Peel, Pulling

  • Feral Tank, Restoshaman, Hunter, Fury Warrior, Fury Warrior
Feral for 5% Crit, No Salvation but more cleave dps with 2 Warriors (Better with stronger gear when Warriors can offtank without dying), Hunter for Singletarget DPS, CC, Peel, Pulling

Both comps can work just fine, it’s probably up to you guys what you prefer. Keep in mind that the Prot Pala has to kite a lot and work together with the Mage for Nova + Blizzard + CoC.
Meleecleave is more raw dps’ing it down.

Summed up:

  • Don’t mix magic-dps support and physical-dps support
  • Bring a Shaman (Totems op)
  • Try to bring a Pala (Salvation / Wisdom)
  • Bring cleave or AoE Dps because 80% of time is 2-4 targets
  • CC helps a lot (Not necessarily hard CC, but slows / root / peel for tank)
