I wonder if anyone could tell me whats the server to start a fresh Horde character on, with good population and a well filled AH.

I used to play Horde on Mirage Raceway in Vanilla Classic and it was very Alliance dominate, but I heard from someone here recently that it’s got quite a horde population now.
You’d probably get a better answer by asking in general chat on the servers themselves, or whispering some guild members.

Golemagg is the safest bet with over 19k Players, Mograine with 10k would be my second choice. There is also Venoxis(18k) if you are German.
In the current server landscape I would consider all other choices too risky

Hopefully Blizzard will drop the idea of servers at some point.
Megaserver with channels is so much better.
Imagine being on a server with everyone, No question about it, Just every person in the game is just there, No more splitting population amongst different servers

Mirage Raceway (horde) feels dead when comes to PvP. PvE (looking at LFG chat) seems to be fine.

It indeed does, I have no problems getting into dungeons and there’s always a few raid groups up too for the pugs out there.
