Best healing class?

Looking to roll a healer but wanted to here peoples opinions on them.

I play all content.

atm druid is rly the only healer most pugs will take to any key higher than +10 even though theyre all more than viable till u start doing +20 and up. it is a bit of a difficult healer for people looking to start healing since its predictive rather than reactive healing. if u dont want a druid your next best option is holy pala or mistweaver monk with mistweaver slightly ontop

What do U mean predictive healing instead of reactive of u don’t mind me asking.

predictive is knowing the encounters and when to expect damage spikes so preparing with hots ect before its taken.
Reactive healing is quickly getting health up after its been taken

I haven’t really done high keys, is this what it’s like? I healed in MoP and some of legion and it was fun. No idea what it’s like now though

For m+ you gonna have a hard time as any healer besides druid when you go for 15+ because pugs think what MDI use to speed run its the only viable thing.

On raiding, everything works fine with priests pulling the most output in mythic keys but if you go for just heroics and some mythic bosses all healers are very good and equally great.

In pvp(that i dont play) ive seen people in the forums calling druid the best with monk/pala somehow viable while others are being called trash.

Personally i main a mistweaver monk and i would love to have a priest, but im not gonna go priest yet because i wont be able to gear it inside dungeons with metaslaves asking rdruids for their 10’s :stuck_out_tongue:

Whats this fixation with “best”?

By the time you get any good with whatever class it is the “best” will have changed. Play something you enjoy and master it.

Protection warriors on explosive weeks would like to have a word with you.

Any time.

So 1 week among how many can they go ham?
Do they have to be lucky enough to finish all orbs themselves?
Too much conditions, not 1st place material.

All hail the Blood DK

The best Healing Class is… the one you find most comfortable playing - simple as that

I call druid and MW monk, I have most fun with them and they are both very enjoyable in their gameplay/mechanics (at least for me)

That’s the best advice.
For example in Legion I played most healing specs in M+ dungeons to gear up for the Mage Tower and no matter how hard I tried, Disc priest and druid where 2 specs I could never get used to, while I never had any problems as holy pala.

You should read a bit through guides about the healers strengths and choose what you think you’re most comfortable with.

I play mostly holy pala because I love his strong burst of ST and group heal, the ability to deal good melee dmg (which can be pretty helpful for mana effecient healing), and the many dmg reduction abilties he can use. He’s very good for M+ dungeons, even if his raid healing is a bit weak.

The No. 3 healer in the world is a disc. Grevious week isn’t kind to disc but then you can just flip to holy that week.

The above said I’d advise the OP to roll a druid. A druid has always been a viable healer in every xpac, will be needed for raid heals even where priests are topping meters, and has three other specs all of which will be viable in some xpac or other into the future.

Resto Shamans and Disc Priests are in demand in Raids, Resto druids Mythic+ dungeons.

“Best Healer” ain’t really a thing tbh. they just function differently and excell in different content/encounters. What’s most important are that you feel comfortable playing the spec. Even if i whould say Druid’s bonkers right now, they also play way differently then for example a paladin and shaman.

Holy Priest’s ok, a bit vanilla to play however you only really shine in raids as long as the raid play to your advantages. You can easilly push keys up to 20, however finding groups that will take you are a different story. Disc have the dmg, but lacks the single target healing required in many situations, so it’s more of a “premade” spec in higher content. Disc is basicly only as strong, as the group allows the priest to be. Holy have the healing for higher keys, but you pretty much are unable to deal any significant impact with damage or other utility. Thus holy are often called the worst mythic+ spec. and I sort of Agree due to how they function.

Both specs are viable, but shine in different content/encounters so if you want a rather flexible healer priest can be something for you.

Monk are pretty much the strongest consistent burst healer in the game, which makes it great for mythic+. Monk works well in raids aswell unless the fight’s too long for them. Monks only real weakness are it’s mana sustainability, which are more noticeable in a raid enviroment with really long fights.

Shaman’s are the kings of raiding, however you really need to spec around alot and often have a ton of different responsibilities. If you want to be a healer that function more like the “MacGyver” of a raid group, shaman might be for you. However in Mythic+ you will see some struggles, many of the shamans tools are balanced for raiding primarly. Not to mention the shamans dispel(curse and magic) are horrible for m+, since diseases and poisons are way more deadly. However you can easially get your +15’s done if you want too and it’s acctually a great healer for dual ranged groups, since shamans bring stun + a interupt.

Paladin, well i don’t have much experience with them. Just like shaman’s you are more like a Nische healer focusing on utility. Usually better as a tank healer, but with the introduction of the Glimmerdin you can acctually become a fairly strong spot raid healer aswell. Paladin’s are also very solid in mythic+ and can be really fun, if you like to stand in melee.

Druids… well they are just very solid. In five man content the mastery spirals out of control, so they almost have the same burst heal potential as a monk. DPS is also very solid, not to mention knockbacks and catweaving. In raiding however I always found Druid to be a little “meh”, mostly due to how mana hungry they are. Slap a BoW and a extra innervate or three on them and they do great thou…

Shaman is the best for pugging actually you have a kick, purge, aoe stun, on demand aoe healing cd, decent st, possible to cast on movement, and set up if u go cloud burst totem. Hex can also be interesting for teeming fortified week

In predictive healing I find disc priest harder than druid.

play the one you enjoy…

outside of MDI, all the healers are represented in very high keys 20+, so it really comes down to player skill at that point.

Druids just happen to better for speed running…so the vast majority of idiots follow suit like little lost sheep.
