Best pet for survival DPS?

Need a new pet as I still has a tiger from STV, any suggestions for good pets?

All non-exotic pets does same damage. The only difference is the family pet belongs to. Each pet belongs to one family. The familiy defines what special abilities pet has. There are 3 families:

  • Ferocity gives +10% leech, heroism/bloodlust (6 min cd)
  • Cunning gives +8 movement speed, remove root (45 sec cd)
  • Tenacity gives +5% max health, -20% to all damage for 6 sec (3 min cd)

All pets can tank when doing solo content (meaning all has Growl). Each pet might has additional ability depending on its nature, e.g. spiders can slow target with web, ravagers can reduce target’ healing by 10%, bats can purge target (enrage and magic). But all non-exotic pets do same pure dps numbers. So if you play BM hunter, you might want exotic pet, they have aditional (exotic) ability, some of them do damage.

Sv pve ferocity pet : take a wolf or bat (for purge)
for solo content ferocity pet are better than tenacity pets, +10% leech >*

For pvp cunning pets : hyena/ raptor for mortal wounds effect etc.
