Best place to read about WOW lore?

I have been playing since Vanilla minus a 4 year/2 expansion period and have never really bothered with the lore of it all until now.

Where can i read about it all, is there any good sites and stuff you could recommend?

Hi there dwarf friend,

The most commonly used source for lore is Wowpedia, but some pages aren’t really up to date.

You have to keep in mind that the lore changes very often too. Things you read about the lore from six years ago may have been retconned by now for example. If you are willing to spend some money, officials books including novels have been published over the years.

The books supposed to cover the history and origins of WoW are The Chronicles, but some elements from these books have been retconned since. The devs said that they were written from the Titans point of view (even if it doesn’t make sense) to justify it. It’s still a credible source for a lot of things. Similar books about the Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor and the Shadowlands are already available and one about Northrend is supposed to come out I don’t know when.

Another source for lore, mainly background stories of characters, is the free short stories published on the game’s official website as well as audio books

Thank you so much for the response, perfect answer

You’re welcome, other players may have additional sources that I don’t know of but these are good starters
