Is tailoring far behind JC? I can see it synergising nicely if you align it with other procs/DW for big burst.
Not quite sure if you’re required to have Tailoring to use most common enchants from it but Jewelcrafting best gems require the profession to have them in
JC and Blacksmithing offer the exact same bonus.
However, for Holy paladin and Prot paladin you have insane BiS trinkets from JC
enginering is garbage get BS+jwc or jwc and tailoring for that 400ap if you play retri

It’s obviously not, hyperspeed on pull to stack vengeance faster and nitros are probably the biggest dps increase for any class on any fight that requires any sort of movement.
It’s not the exact same. JC offers 3x 34 stat gems, while BS offers 2x sockets.
So currently Blacksmithing is offering 32 stats more than default.
Jewelcrafting is offering 54 stats more than default.
With Epic gems that changes because the standard gems gain +4 stats.
BS = 40
JC = 42.
So however you look at it, Jewelcrafting is quite a bit better than the Blacksmithing bonus right now, and slightly better at the end of the expansion.
Wow! 2 points of secondary stats! Now that changes everything. Sure I get it that JC has trinkets and gems can earn you coin better than most BS crafting. But like with BiS guides people over value even the slightest increase in stats while next item to BiS might literally have 1 stat less (had this situation with mage t5 gloves and BiS gloves of phase 2 of TBC from Kael’Thas) but is far easier to get allowing you to focus on real rare and unreplaceble items.
Hey I’m not saying otherwise, my main has Blacksmithing/Engineering and I’m not swapping. But as it stands right now, JC gives a LOT more than Blacksmithing and even with Epic gems it’s still better by those 2 stat points. With Blacksmithing not having any BOP items in WOTLK there is no benefit to taking it over JC as a fresh profession.
JC+BS for pure stats = smoothbrain
Engi for indirect improvement to dps = smart
What professions would my roleplaying character know, based on his backstory and personality = galaxy brain
Honestly speaking, if you want to get into raids, best profession would be butler or personal assistant to the GM or RL.
