Best professions for main and alt?

I was thinking about Alchemy and Herbalism on main because of the 2h Flask Buff and Jewelcraftin and Mining for making money on my alt.
Are there better combos?

For main I would say engineer/alchemy.
Alt mining/herbalism.
Goldfarm on alt, chill play on main

never pick engi for anything blizz hate it and invest no effort into it

i agree engineering has been lacklustre for the last two expansions. But the coniviences is extreme.

Depends on what you want out of them. Sheer convenience, Alchemy/Engineering is a good combination. If you want to make gold with them, there’s no need to have them on your main in Shadowlands. There’s no rep-gating (outside of 1 daily transmute for Alch, which is a relatively quick farm on an alt if you really want it).
