which is the best race for death knight if I want to play it as tank for the horde?..
do I miss a lot if I make it undead?

Undead is for looks. Orc is for pvp. Tauren is for pve.
For the trolls and blood elfs… no comment.
go for looks
the racials are very very tiny margin of difference between them in dps.
make a few DKs for diferent races and wander a bit in the starting zone.
i strongly advise either orc or belf, orc has some good dps racials that u can macro with breath/ERW for extra nuke and great shoulders, belf has the utility racial very welcome in m+
going undead u dont lose much, i for one dont really like the bones sticking out of armor but its ur choice
u can be a blue or green tauren as DK due to special skins only DKs have for each race
for tanking you are looking at tauren and troll mainly (Tauren get more health and trolls get berserking to refresh runes)
alternatively, goblin as they gain passive haste bonus and a forwards leap to get to positions faster.

Orc PvP / Blood Elf PVE DPS / TANK
Human Dps, PVP (draenei’s good in a fixed 3v3 team for the heal) / Night Elf Tank
They’re nerfing/nerfed trolls.
i say bloodelf. they get 20 runic power from their racial (as far as i know.), I like Worgen for looks tho
I would say Tauren is the better to be blood DK but troll a close second due to the 10% extra regeneration, but a good stun to have some crowd control is neat as a tank.
Tauren: Brawn ( heal increased by 2% ), Endurance ( Increase stamina, depending on lvl ) , Nature resistance ( 1% less nature dmg ), War stomp ( 5 sec stun )
Troll: Regeneration ( 10% extra healing ), Da voodoo shuffle ( reduce movement impairing effects by 20% )
Blood elf: Arcane torrent ( 8 sec stun ) and Arcane resistance ( 1% less dmg from arcane )
Orc: Hardiness ( 20% reduced stun )
