What will be best race for Rated BG ?
Depends on the class to some extent, but I would imagine orc for the horde and human for the alliance… just like any other PvP scenario really. In my opinion it doesn’t matter that much though… most races have decent PvP racials.
E.g. nightelf vengeance demon hunters or night elfs in general (if your class cant stealth) are pretty good at defending bases since they can shadowmeld. In other words, they can avoid getting that first sap by a rogue which is really good.
In terms of rogues races I’d say human/orc, but undead’s will of forsaken is better than what people give it credit for in my opinion. People often play Belfs for the 1% crit and arcane torrent. Apparently you can remove BoP and similar effect with arcane torrent, but im not sure how reliant that is?
i’ve noticed meld doesn’t seem to drop combat in rbgs like it does in arenas, so nelf pretty bad for that probably.
Maybe, I can just tell from experience that nelf DH tanks are really good at defending bases in rbgs because of shadowmeld… since you would have to find them first if you wanna sap them, especially since they can be miles away and still jump to the flag if you would start capping it (thinking the DH went off somewhere else).
Obviously if you had good comms you could deduce that the DH is still at the base in shadow meld somewhere, but it still makes it very hard to actually find him when he is invisible
ah yeah, maybe dh its good, i meant for rogue though. meld is insane for rogue in arena atm cause it drops combat so its a second vanish and stealth is super important atm, probably better than orc even. in rbgs it doesn’t seem to drop combat for some reason so it’s way less useful.
That’s weird though… you’d expect that a racial ability would work more consistently.
Anyway, I didn’t realize it worked like a 2nd vanish :o In terms of GCDs, how does shadowmeld work with stealth? Is it basically a guaranteed stealth or is there a risk that you automatically lose shadowmeld before you can restealth while standing in AoE or an untimely dot tick for example?
I assume shadowmeld doesn’t apply the cloaked in shadows conduit nor would you benefit from MA when leaving shadowmeld? You would have to actually hit stealth to grant those effects, right?
it drops combat in world content and arena, it does not in rbgs and raids. not sure about dungeons.
meld and stealth are both off global. meld stays forever as long as you stand still and it allows the use of stealth abilities but is otherwise not real stealth. it won’t proc subterfuge, it won’t let you move, it won’t proc master assassin etc.
reason it’s a vanish is because it drops combat moreso than what the meld does. so you’re in combat, you meld, meld drops combat, you can now press stealth. doesn’t work if you’re getting attacked at the time cause it doesn’t protect the stealth like vanish does, but is really strong if you can get around a corner or something for a second.
you can also immune things with it, like melding a storm bolt for example. but that’s less for rogues cause it is so useful as a restealthing tool for us.
restealths are insane cause of MA and rogues being paper plus it’s protected by cloaked in shadows so nelf is really powerful atm. generally being in stealth not taking damage or kiting with soulshape, steps and sprint is a much better defensive strategy than trying to tank and outlive damage as a rogue this season.
thanks for the answer
