Best rogue tree?

I am back after a long time and was wonder which tree is now the best? Assassin outlaw or subtlety. Do you maybe also have a link where I can find info and apps etc?

But this is so difficult to answer when you ask the question like that…

Good in what? PvE? PvP? Mythic+, ranked Arenas, ranked BGs, World PvP? In every content in the game in general?
Right now or in two weeks when new changes and tunings will rather appear with prepatch?..
You wanna just be competitive in lower ranks or you wanna beat the scores in high end content of the game (M+ / Ranked PvP)?

In every case the answer would be different.

Check out rogue PvP/PvE guides at Wowhead and Icy Veins sites, if you wanna know in details wich spec is potentially the best in every case.

Pve. Wanne do raids and myth dungeons again. But I couldn’t find what is best now.
I read abouth new expansion. I have 2 weeks then to learn everything again lol

Best spec is the one YOU master.

Ty kid! Now go change your diaper

This close to Shadowlands, it’s too early to tell. Seems like all Specs should be competitive in the new expansion.

As for the last breaths of BfA, Assassination and Outlaw seem to both be doing fine. Icy Veins can probably answer any questions you might have on specific things. Just do a quick google on it, as the Forums don’t allow links. However, I wouldn’t invest too heavily into BfA content, as once Pre-patch hits, we’ll see a Level Squish and a lot of things will just be changing.

Please, don’t judge Madblade too quickly. In PvP he’s totally right, in PvE I see at our forum ppl who play Sub Rogues (considered very bad at PvE atm) who love playstyle of the spec that much, they manage to be competetive in M+, even Assass would been simplier to play and to get more dmg a lot easier.

Assass is now cosidering the best in PvE generally but at the same time with the most repeatetive playstyle. Remember, one thing is to go the easiest way to get as high score as possible (and maybe in time become bored to death), another is to manage to get high dmg playing spec and playstyle you fit the best, mate.

The common knowledge cosidering SL for now is all specs are more or less equal in PvE with Sub beeing a little ahead. Ofc that could be changed after abilities final number tuning.

If we’re talking BfA…no, just no. It seems a lot of people still dwell in the past with regards to Subtlety and think just because the spec is still called Subtlety, as it was when it was one of the most complex specs in the game, it’s still the oh-so-most complex spec ever.

Ever since they introduced those Shadow Dance charges the spec was brain dead easy with the most boring gameplay ever. There were a few months where the playstyle was fun (DfA build in Legion with legendary gloves and crit shouldlers), but other than that its playstyle was garbage.

Not saying Assassin is the most complex thing ever, but certainly more so than Sub nowadays. And unfortunately it looks to be staying that way in SL since Enveloping Shadows will be the best talent in that row and Premeditation is stupidly busted, takes out using SND completely out of the game (why even return the ability?) and it pushes that Shadowstrike spam gameplay most of the older sub fans absolutely hate.

While Assassination gets SND and has to keep refreshing it manually even though it’s the only spec that has no real benefit from it for its rotation.
Rogues in SL look more more ridiculously designed than ever before.

For raiding I’d say assa rogue (minus hectic add fights then go outlaw)
M+ outlaw
PVP assa and maybe sub for some comps

and if needed you can also check wowhead but usually their the same guides from what I understand.

I really enjoy Sub. Don’t care it’s not top dps, this feels like you’re actually playing a rogue.

For me what does really matter if this class or spec actually made me fun to play it. What do you mean by “fun” (feel the fantasy playing it, enjoying smooth rotation, have different tools and options, be the first on the leaderboard) - is up to you.

Assa generally covers alot more categories in terms of the pvp, pve, raid, M+ etc as a whole.

Outlaw is good but requires a main hand weapon and difference essences/azerite to be capitalised to its most potent and only really performs well in AOE

sub is a Shadowlands/pvp thing
