I accidently bought a 200g gem for 9111g 13s and 13c, because I hadn’t played in a while and my addon told me everything was at market value. Blizzard said if I report it within two hours and don’t use the item they will refund it, but of course I had already equipped the gem, conveniently they mention a rule I’ve never heard of after I can’t do anything about it. They refused telling me it’s my fault and implying if you get someone to buy your overpriced whatever the sale is final.
So how do I get someone, dumb as me, to buy something that’s well overpriced so I can get my gold back? Any ideas?
I was told the only thing I can do is to tell the item back and try to make my gold back. So this is me trying to find the best way. You didn’t read what I was asking…
I already did!!! Why are you here? Do you have any advice on selling things on the AH at outrageous prices so I can get my gold back? If you don’t go away.
We can understand that it is frustrating if you bought an overpriced item on the auction house. Some players put items there for a much higher price. Since it is an open market they are allowed to enter any price they see fit.
Purchases on the auction house are final and cannot be reverted by our support agents. That is why you always need to be extra careful with any item you buy.
Exactly, no matter how much this actually sucks, at the end of the day it’s your responsability to see what you’re buying and at what price you are buying, instead of blaming the rest of the community.
@Agadir. There are quite a few addons that can be used for the AH. Unfortunately there is no easy answer to your question about getting your money back. However I have a few unwanted pets in a guild bank. None of which are extremely rare but if you speak to me in game (On Azuremyst-EU realm) I will quite happily give them to you.
I doubt they would reach the 9000g that you lost, but they might make you a little bit.
This is the caveat of the WoW AH.
Never believe the prices you see, always research a bit.
Always compare to how much gold you have. Basic items are never that expensive.
I prefer bigger AH where there is no way to dominate the market.
In GW2 there is no point of doing this - with regular items - since the market will be flooded anyway in minutes and you’ll never actually profit - despite the FIFO system, you’ll be consistently undercut. (Also, buy orders help seeing whether there is a sudden big gap.)
Also, thanks to the FIFO and absence of 24h return system, people are happy to ride the supply-demand equilibrium (with the odd exception, but big market means it’ll be gone quick) without the need of “FML I wanna sell” undercuts.
Yet another thing, calculating the deposit fee based on listing price (instead of vendor) could help with these scenarios, since failing the bait would be expensive.
Imagine me opening a stand, hello everyone, I purchased all the bread, and now you have the privilege of purchasing it off me for 100€ per loaf or 10000€ as whole.
I’m pretty sure either police would save me by taking me in or I’d be lynched.
As i understand, his problem is that it was only 9k price gems on AH in that moment and he thought it is their real price. It happens sometimes when all cheaper gems are just already bought out.
