With the exp boost returning next week and the coming Christmas holidays it would be a great time to level a character. The question is what realm would be the best.
For sure Jin’do is not a good option - with transfers open to Thekal the population has decreased a lot.
I think Thekal is a good option - the only PVP server with some faction balance but I am reading almost daily opinions that the server is dying.
Mograine - Horde dominated but still few Alliance guilds that are resisting the Horde. Is there any advantage over Thekal?

I would say don’t really bother finding a balanced realm unless you really want to PvP, most people on PvP realms don’t want to PvP in the open world. They just want to do BGs and instanced PvP.

You are quite right, for PVP one needs the best gear and I know I will always be behind the others.
I’ve played on Thekal and the only PVP I did was getting killed quickly by Hordies.
If not looking for balanced/PVP, what server do you recommend for Alliance? How is Pyrewood Village?
Speak for yourself pwv player. Here on thekal we enjoy balanced ratio. Op, pick thekal.
Most ppl saying thekal is dying are the gdkp trolls hating that they cant touch all the potential customers there, because they get reported by the community here.

Before you pick a realm OP go and see before you start levelling, to see how full it is and the active players. Don’t just take someone’s word for it being great, that includes mine.
Pyrewood Village is good for alliance if you can find the right guild and I would recommend joining one. The horde side isn’t thriving, for that go to the PvE realm mirage raceway.
I don’t play too much on PvP realms so I can’t really recommend one, but the ones I would recommend are locked, unless you already have a character there. Firemaw is the Alliance PvP realm, the other locked ones are Horde.
There is a way round that if you have an SoM character you can transfer there, then you can make a new character on one.

on gehennas you can make a lot of money with low level items in auction house and in the auction house you find a lot of low level rare items with that you can level fast …

The only people saying Thekal is dead are:
Megaserver players who want the transfer restriction removed, and they are inventing the “Thekal is dead argument” to justify it.
And some Thekal players who are saying it for the same reason.
To these people, because Thekal is not a “megaserver” that means its dead, if ironforge.pro is not tracking 30k level 80s per calandar month then its dead, if theres no lag or queues then its dead, if any random zone doesnt have at least 50 players at 2am server time then its dead.
In reality - Thekal is the healthiest server in the world.
