hiya, I am really struggling to pick a class going into shadowlands, I only do M+ and plan on doing arena 2s with my friend who is a priest. my options are…
(Death knight) confident playing death knight played it since wotlk love all specs but know its not brill in 2s with a priest
(Paladin) confident playing it find it a bit boring at times don’t really like ret neither
(warrior) same confident playing it like the dps specs but tanking I tend to find a bit boring. I also know its not brill with priest.
(monk) find it really fun not a whole lot of experience with it. I like all specs (its probably also my favourite healer spec as well. have no idea how it pairs with priest?
(Druid) my drood is my oldest char made in vanilla, I have not played it since wotlk I just level it up and don’t really play it. I also have never done drood tanking or feral always been resto/balance. I have no idea if I would enjoy it or not tbh. i know it pairs with priest well though.
(Demon hunter) really fun class enjoy both specs but I think it doesn’t pair with priest well in 2s?
so for a guy planning only tanking M+ and playing 2s with a priest which would you pick? I am only making this post because I genuinely cant decide. I also don’t have a lot of time these days so I don’t want to start levelling something to find its not going to work for what I want to do. your opinion’s are much appreciated thank you
Is your Priest buddy playing healer or DPS? If he’s healing in M+ as Discipline, it would probably be good if you choose a tank class that has good self-sustain, since Discipline cannot immediately burst heal a specific target, so I guess that favors:
Druid
Paladin
Death Knight
If he’s playing Holy, the other tanks would maybe benefit more from Holy’s good burst healing:
Actually played some dungs in SL a while ago and as holy i did not have to heal the monk at all… Their celestial brew was broken to the sky, not sure if they did nerf something since then.
But honestly speaking holy is great with a DK because it does not need to heal it at all but only sometimes give it a spirit to boost its healing and then ignore it while focusing on others that take heavy damage.
Still, its soon to have a 100% legit opinion.
Even in BFA BDK was n1 in 1st season then got nerfed to the ground while warrior became the absolute and only M+ tank pick.
No matter what, we cant predict because blizzards strategy is to have us constantly rerolling.
Be more specific, what u wana achieve? One weekly run? All dungs on 10?15? Push 5k rio? Play arenas for fun? Go for glad? R1?
Because unless u go for like glad/r1/5k rio u can play pretty much whatever u want, and even tho we are soo close, there are still gona be a lot of changes to classes, number wise, pvp tuning needs to be done, but from all dps options each tank has, they dont look to be trash in pvp, u maybe wont play s tier comp, but u dont need that for push.
