I tried about a two weeks ago and I got the message “target is unfriendly” and wont allow me send the gold.

It’s my account it shows all my character names and realms. Yes I am 100% sure.

I can mail gold between my horde and ally chars on the same realm. You can’t do it cross realm though. Unless it’s a ‘connected realm’ which is basically just one big merged realm.

Okay, i had to ask. I’ve made that mistake myself. Long as they’re on the same realm(or connected realm) they’re fine!

Wierd I send alts gold cross faction semi regularly. Sent like 30k yesterday from alliance chars to this guy

Well there you go. My horde is on Draenor and I am Silvermoon. So you can’t send cross realm and cross faction to your own characters ?

Cross-realm mail doesn’t work. That’s why this thread exists, really.

No you will need a trusted friend, because you can’t log on to two characters at the same time.

Cross realm trading is enabled but not cross realm mail. That is still restricted to just Bind on Account items. This may well change in TWW when we get our warbands or make it easier to move things with the Warband bank type storage.

Maybe make a trial account trade the gold then log onto the new char you want it on?

Trial accounts are restricted, you can’t trade and you can’t earn more than 1k gold.

the auction house is across all servers now right? Just post some trash item for 240k gold and buy it yourself on another realm?

Heck if you are really lucky someone else might even buy it accidently before you can

All the stuff on the AH that is cross server stacks. You’d have to buy all of the previous stack up to the most expensive one. Not very practical. You also lose a cut to the AH.

true you would lose a cut. But it is possible to transfer gold this way.

And items stacking shouldnt be a problem. theres plenty of sellable gray or white trash items wich are not being sold on the AH. So if you can find some trash item wich isnt being sold by anyone else then it should be easy to find on the ah without

Especially trash items from older expansions wich people dont barely do anymore

Looking through there is the odd item people have found to do this but it’s hard to find them. Bit harsh having to farm a grey item that isn’t already listed.

I still think it’s better to use a friend and not lose any gold in the process. But it does have to be a TRUSTED friend.
