Alt is a very vague term anyways. The cut-off when people call a character an alt/main vastly differs from person to person.
I for example was calling my Druid my main until my priest surpassed him in RIO, even though I was playing my Priest more than I did play my Druid. Only after my priest got more RIO, I started calling him my main.
Thus yes, it’s hard to pinpoint what people mean by “alt”. It’s just too vague and everybody interprets it differently.
That being said, even if I’d have an “alt” by your definition I, and the emphasis lies on I here, would still want to get as far as possible with said alt. If I have one, I’d also want to taken him into 12s/13s/14s just because it’s fun.
If I already know beforehand that this is impossible or heavily handicapped, then I’d refuse to even invest any time in said alt.
Even alts have, at least for me, a goal in mind.
This is a huuuuge issue. Ive had a friend who was only doing his weekly keys and nothing else and he reached gear cap. He got one or 2 pieces of loot from pug 4/8 mythic raid but he did it once.
Meanwhile i have been doing mythic raiding every week 6/8 mythic and pushing 13-14 and my main is still 635 … Ive lost motivation to even try for crest discount 636 gear thats coming next week because i need to highroll on vault otherwise nope…
Im so done with this season. Every single thing has been terrible. M+, raids, alt gearing, profession. All endgame content is atrocious, brutaly difficult and unrewarding, bland and poorly designed and full of bugs. Im so done Christ…
Yes, I’m also really annoyed by the fact that WoW doesn’t reward effort. WoW gearing basically just consists of luck and time.
I play two characters, one of which is doing 13s/14s, the other one (this druid) had this mythic vault from the very first ID of the season.
Both characters are hardstuck at 634 because of the “ololol once a week loot slot machine”, even though I make sure to get 3 options every week.
Both characters didn’t get any item this vault and last vault. It’s infuriating.
Same. I like M+ and I don’t mind the difficulty too much even though I think that they made a few horrible design decisions this season but given how the vault works … no catch-up system, pure RNG, terrible overinflated loot table, no bad luck protection… I just cba anymore.
I’ve done 2 weekly keys this entire ID, maybe I’ll do 2 more on my Priest and one on this Druid. I just cba to do anymore at this point. I’m kind of over this season by now and thinking of just unsubbing until S2… should things change in S2.
