N’zoth is getting no more than any other old god got, maybe even more if you count the rest of bfa so it isn’t exactly that big of a deal.

Comparing a patch to an expansion and hoping the next expansion will be better than a patch.
The underlaying issue isnt 8.3 or 8.x or whatever.
You lost interest in the game.

Isn’t this how gearing works in general? You invest hours into getting gear from raids and it turns to nothing in the next patch. Why even bother, right?
Stuff like neck, cloak, essences or artifact weapons in Legion are items you can upgrade and keep over the course of the entire expansion.
And don’t get me wrong, I would much rather keep these items in full power until they are outbenefited by better items instead of having their power simply taken away at the end of the xpac.
But getting good gear and then replacing with better gear is how gear has worked since the … birth of RPGs?

Hey, OP, it’s always been like this. Grind gear that gets too weak so you have to grind new gear. When a new xpack comes, the old gear is obsolete.
How mad do you think the try harders of Vanilla were when TBC came and their epics were rivaled by green starting zone gear? It’s not some Activision thing. By now you should know this will happen and enjoy the ride. At least we have transmogs now and of legendaries too, so the effort is saved in some manner.

I rather enjoy the final patch gear grind to be honest. It has some lasting value.
The patch in itself will last for many months, so the gear will as well. There’s a little incentive to optimize so you can get some fast leveling in the next expansion. And Blizzard tends to add a little extra to the itemization in the final patch, because the next expansion acts as a soft reset anyway, so the items tend to have more fun and crazy effects in the final patch – that seems evident in 8.3 too.
On a whole, the final patch period is probably also the nicest time to play WoW, because you have the entirety of the expansion content available to dig into. It becomes this long, no hassle period where you have progression content, old to-do goals to finish, and a new expansion to prepare for.
I really enjoy that period. I think it’s the best in the WoW patch cycle.

Actually N’zoth is the weakest. Also every old god got only 1 tier, not an entire expansion.

I do too and I will forever be sad I missed out on things like mage tower, Argus in the sky and the events leading up to the burning of Teldrassil. I loved Legion but got burned out and quit. BfA not so much but I’ll stick around.
That’s the problem, because N’zoth is the first old god ever in WoW that was freed and who is faced directly, completely unleashed. And we just go there, snap a finger and he’s dead. Riiiight…
It’s actually the weakest
Personally I’m not that excited for 8.3 and am more keen for Shadowlands at this point.
There is various stuff on offer in 8.3, it’s just that it doesn’t appeal to me. I am hoping my M plus team can stick at it until we get our +15 achievement and mount. However in reality it is looking highly likely it will fall apart before then due to lack of interest from the current direction the game has taken.
I will probably take the time to farm some older stuff and things I’m missing until I get bored and then take a break until SL if I have nothing left that I want to do.

I really don’t get what you’re even complaining about at the first part. Gear in the last patch has always been made irrelevant come the next expansion, this one is not any different. WoW has always been about grinding. I guess you just didn’t know what kind of a game you were playing at all then.
Wow is a grindy game you just stated obvious and redundant stuff and the fact you are leaving i doubt that anyone gives a fox .
Armor turns into transmog. I just mentioned Neck, Essencess and AP.
Additionaly, before you start talking, check my gear next time. It is absolutely better than yours even my alts have better gear.
But whay bother getting better right?
