I saw they once said in a Q&A that it needs to ‘make sense’ within the game’s story and progression.
Is it hard to let us battle an Alliance / Horde champion in an instanced but different zone, once per week? If they really did not want to make many versions like in Legion, they could have differentiated the zone (Call for Help: Vol’dun… etc) and 6 different versions would have been available, on a weekly rotation.
Normal - Heroic - Mythic difficulty. Repeatable like the Proving grounds, stackable like Endless+30 etc. The reward could have been a class-set, I mean they removed class-specific sets from raids for balancing issues (let’s pretend it wasn’t laziness) so they could have implemented them this way at least.
The artifact challenge had a huge success in Legion. I don’t know why they didn’t implement it again. If they are ‘waiting’ to reimplement it for when we fight the Void / Old Gods / Azshara…okay I guess, still no damn excuse not to implement it while the expansion theme was still Horde vs Alliance.
Imagine how many people would have stayed subbed to repeat achievements or more difficulties once per week, to unlock a transmog or anything. I don’t get it.
As I said few weeks ago, all allied races got weapon/shield appearances to go along with heritage armor, could easily be introduced as reward for challenging content not unlike Mage Tower. And with regular races getting heritage as well, we might just see heritage weapons/shields reward for all races, and instead of rewards being class related, they’d be race related. Could see some epic stuff here, Dark iron dwarves got amazing stuff already, night elves could have glaives, taurens could have big totems like 2h maces, and so on.
Even if they didn’t implement a solo challenge, with the success of the challenge mode dungeons in the past and their now bigger than ever focus on Mythic+ i don’t see why they couldnt implement a new Dungeon Challenge Mode with special affixes and a set completion time
This would reward a new set of challenge mode armor for example
Implement 4-6 affix runs, like necrotic, grievous, sanguine, bursting, which will be a pretty big challenge to complete, with a flashy reward for those that manage.
I usually selfheal during grievous, so having few classes with selfheals should help a bit. But yeah that’s a terrible comp, I remember it being especially bad on Atal raptors (tiny ones) with pugs. They’d proc 6 stacks or so then flame healer if they die.
