So I’ve been leveling my engineering slowly but steadily in BFA, because for some reason it requires a truckload of Expulsoms compared to many other professions. I am finally closing in on 150, farming those Expulsoms from wq trinkets and new wolrd quests for weeks, but then noticed something really stupid. After hitting 147 the last “cheaper” (can’t call it cheap when every lvl costs you 5 expulsoms) patterns turn green. So the only way to level the last 3 levels is to make 3 helmets that require 20 Expulsoms each. 20… It’s a joke to require so much Expulsoms just to hit max level on a profession. How can it be like this when most professions barely need any? Is there something I am missing with engineering in BFA?
Yeah it’s expensive, but the only thing you get at 150 is to make the Motherlode mount. Even the 8.1 craftable 385 goggles don’t require 150.
Stop at like 125 and save your Expulsom. Let WQ’s/DMF do the rest. DMF was changed in 8.1 so that the profession boost applies to the most recent expansion’s skill bar that isn’t already full.

Sure, though any engineering work order WQ will get you that last point =) think I saw one today…
I saw somewhere that scrapping the armor you made returned the expulsom? or did I get that wrong?
I leveled my last 3 points with lvl 3 COMBAT RESS item dont remember the name of it but it was alot less effordless coz it dont req expulsome to make.
Unstable Temporal Time Shifter, and yeah it’s a decent item to make, though I doubt you have level 3 (if by that you mean three stars) right now 
I noticed that with the new goggles yeah.
Yeah you right i just checked and its lvl2 anyway its still better option to lvl with than exp farm for weapons/helms
