Just heard some rumors, and with my unbelievable bad luck of course I’m just about to hit the finish line after a painful grind, 20k more turtle rep to fly.
Should I just sit this out, wait and get “free flying” with 10.1?
Do they remove these insane rep requirements?
When exactly is it coming out?
it’s happening with 10.0.7
It is indeed happening with next weeks reset and the launch of 10.0.7
Why this game always punishing grinding people. I would be upset if shadowlands flying became free after i spend hours on it. Season system is punishing enough already.
Does this affect unlocking races too? Or do they still have the same grind?
It’s been 4 years since we unlocked the BFA pathfinder. Meanwhile there’s plenty of new players that weren’t there at that time that are unable to fly there and probably don’t even know they can or how they can unlock it. Furthermore, aside from that, Blizz did not gave any reason to go back in Kul’tiras and Zandalar, meaning new players have no occasion to do it passively like you did back then.
I had 2 of those new players in my guild in Shadowland and i guided them through it, but at first they were just uselessly disgusted by BFA zones because of this, seeing everyone being able to fly while they were arbitrarily grounded behind a multiple-rep farm untied to any current content.
In the end, just let them fly. It doesn’t hurt anyone.
that’s not that kind a grind you wanna be a SPECIAL at
it’s just a rep grind that was never something to be proud of
I don’t see pathfinder as a grind. It was awarded for simply playing the game at that time. Doing the story, doing WQs, getting rep - all part of the passive expansion gameplay. With SL it got even easier, by getting renown to 45, which was the easiest task ever.
Now, when it’s 1-2 expansions gold, why butcher new people with that? Doesn’t make sense - let them fly.
To be fair with Mjane, pride about any content done is subjective. Maybe she values it as it wasn’t something she did passively, but most of us did it without even thinking about it aside 2-3 weeks of open world content in 8.2.
Still, it’s pretty dumb now to ask anyone to do it now, like it would to have to buy the Cold weather flying today.
I would not have the same discourse if BFA Open World were still current content, tho.
No you still have to do the quests.
A bit OT. When will be flying normal mounts in Dragon Isles?
If you’re actually close to getting it then do it anyway, it still rewards a mount and even if you won’t use it it counts for the total amount of mounts you have (for the achievements).
Its outdated content. And for BFA it makes absolutely sense ontop of that since new players are forced trough it for leveling unless they do the chromie time bug to enable it making their popup at level 30 to learn flying absolutely pointless since they cant fly in BFA.
Shadowlands flying gets rewarded for doing chapter 3 of the Korthia campaign. Thats not “hours”. Dont make it sound harder than it actually was. Zereth Mortis was the one you had to farm and its doubtful that one is being made free in the first place.
You only need the quest lines now they removed the rep requirements a while ago now iirc
it’s not punishment to you lol it has been to many newcomers since bfa you’ve unlocked the achievement got your rewards and benefit then the expansion ended . these need to happen if that content becomes useless for endgame after a while (aka vertical progression) otherwise new people wouldn’t go to older content since they already have too much to catch up in the latest xpac.
I’d imagine 10.2 but dragon riding is better
Ok then add ashbringer back to game and i can farm it, it is also an old content but some people have it.
not the same thing but i wouldn’t care if they add it
Don’t feel bad, you still get the mount at least for your efforts (I think it looks very cool, if u have the trading post pirate mog)
I think it makes sense to allow flying in BfA. Although it’s the default leveling expansion, it’s only for the 1st character. After that players can use Chromie and level in other expansion. And who would choose BfA for their alts because it’s considered bad expansion. So it’s your 1st character that is leveling in BFA. As soon as you reach 60, you go to Dragon Islands. Who would want to continue in BFA to unlock the achievement? Only completionists. Everyone else will just play Dragonflight and some of the other expansions for their alts. So why deprive new players of flying in content they want to quickly play through and very rarely come back.
