BG Blitz is a Great Start – But PvP Guilds Need More Content & Rewards!

BG Blitz is a Great Start – But PvP Guilds Need More Content & Rewards!

First off, I want to say that BG Blitz is a fantastic addition to WoW PvP. The fast-paced format makes battlegrounds more dynamic, and the matchmaking system ensures consistent queue times. It’s a step in the right direction for making battlegrounds more accessible and engaging.

However, while Blitz has improved casual BG participation, there’s still one major issue: PvP guilds are missing any real structured content. Right now, PvE guilds have raid achievements, perks, and rewards, but PvP guilds have no dedicated achievements, no weekly quests, and no meaningful progression.

Introducing: The Guild Honor Meter

One way to fix this is to introduce a Guild Honor Meter—a system that tracks total weekly Honor earned by guild members. This could unlock rewards and encourage guild participation in BG Blitz, Rated PvP, and World PvP.

How It Works:

  • All Honor earned by guild members contributes to a weekly total.
  • Milestones unlock rewards like bonus Conquest, PvP mounts, tabards, or even guild-wide buffs.
  • Leaderboard System: Track top contributing guild members each week.
  • Guild-Wide Rewards: If the guild reaches a certain amount of Honor in a week, everyone gets a reward.

How Else Can We Expand on BG Blitz & PvP Guilds?

  • Guild PvP Achievements: Structured goals like “Win 100 BG Blitz matches with guildmates” or “Reach 2400 rating in Rated PvP as a guild.”
  • Weekly Guild PvP Quests: Missions like “Win 10 Blitz matches with at least 4 guild members” or “Earn 250,000 Honor as a guild this week.”
  • Guild PvP Progression: PvP guilds should level up by earning Honor & Conquest, unlocking perks like bonus Honor, cheaper repairs, or exclusive vendors.
  • 8v8 Guild BG Blitz Mode: A new queue option allowing full guild teams to participate in structured BG Blitz matches.
  • Guild Leaderboards: Track and reward the most active PvP guilds based on victories, rating, and participation.
  • Guild-Based PvP Cosmetics: PvE guilds get exclusive raid mounts and titles—why not PvP banners, tabards, or transmog sets for PvP guilds?

BG Blitz is a Foundation – Now Let’s Build on It

BG Blitz has shown that battlegrounds can be fun, fast, and engaging. Now, let’s take it further and give PvP guilds the same structured progression that PvE guilds have had for years. A dedicated 8v8 Guild Blitz mode would encourage team play, and adding achievements & weekly PvP quests would give PvP guilds a real reason to exist beyond just Arena.

Blizzard, Let’s Make PvP Guilds Meaningful

This isn’t about complaining—it’s about improving. BG Blitz is a solid foundation, but PvP guilds need support. Right now, there are no achievements, no weekly quests, and no guild-based PvP rewards. Giving PvP guilds structured content would make WoW’s PvP scene stronger and more engaging for everyone.

What do you think? Would you like to see PvP guild achievements, the Guild Honor Meter, and an 8v8 Blitz mode? Let’s discuss and push for change together!

Make premade 8v8 Blitz style RBGs and replace the 10v10 premade RBG bracket with it.

The ruleset of blitz is faster paced, more dynamic and better overall than ordinary bgs / RBGs. It just needs a few adjustments like slightly increased cap times so rogues are not that OP in domination and MW monks aren’t the best flag carrier.

Make the hero title attainable through 8v8 premade blitz, add in a recolor gladiator mount for 25 wins over 2400. Inflate the first season this launches.

Profit.

It doesn’t have to be guild locked, joining a guild shouldn’t be required to PvP or join a mode.

8v8 Blitz-style RBGs sound like a great way to modernize and improve competitive battlegrounds, but this is also the perfect opportunity to bring guilds back into PvP. Right now, PvP guilds don’t offer nearly as much structured content as PvE guilds, and that needs to change!

Instead of making guilds a requirement for PvP (which wouldn’t be fair), Blizzard could introduce optional guild incentives to encourage organized team play:

  • Guild PvP Quests: Weekly challenges for winning Blitz RBGs as a guild group.
  • Guild PvP Titles & Rewards: Exclusive titles, mounts, or transmog for PvP guild achievements.
  • Leaderboard & Recognition: Showcase top-performing PvP guilds similar to Mythic+ rankings.
  • Guild Perks: Minor PvP perks like increased honor/conquest gains for guild groups.

This would allow both solo and organized PvP players to thrive, while making PvP guilds meaningful again. BG Blitz is a great foundation, now let’s build on it!

Although this is nice, I feel like 10vs10 needs some love, attention and an overhaul by potentially adding new titles beyond 2.4 high warlord/grand marshal along with Seasonal Heroes such as ‘Forged Heroes of Alliance/Horde’ and so on as the seasons progresses to add a distinct unique reward and increase it’s reward by adding more honor, and cp so it creates more incentive.

The challenge of course is the infamous strong boosting team / mmr droppers, I feel there should be a solution to potentially solve some of the issues without causing damage upon the bracket.

BGB problem is constantly decliners and AFKers when queuing. Punishments needs to be given to people that Q and go AFK. Another step in the right direction.

I completely agree that 10v10 RBGs need more attention, with better rewards, new titles, and higher incentives like extra Honor and Conquest. However, one of the biggest issues holding back both RBGs and BG Blitz is the lack of structured guild-based PvP.

Guild Teams = No More AFK & Leavers

One of the biggest frustrations with BG Blitz is constant decliners and AFKers, which ruins matchmaking and creates bad experiences. The easiest solution? Incentivize guild-based teams.

  • A guild queue would naturally reduce AFK/leavers since guildmates won’t leave mid-match.
  • A Guild RBG Blitz format would create actual tryhard competitive teams rather than uncoordinated groups.
  • Guild leaderboards would give PvP guilds a reason to play seriously and maintain rating.

Guild-Based Rewards for RBGs & BG Blitz

If Blizzard wants to revive 10v10 RBGs, they should encourage guild-based participation by adding:

  • Guild RBG Achievements & Progression – Structured guild achievements like “Win 100 RBGs as a guild” or “Earn 250,000 Honor in a season.”
  • Exclusive Guild PvP Rewards – Special guild mounts, tabards, banners, and transmogs for completing PvP achievements.
  • Higher Rewards for Full Guild Teams – More Honor/CP for winning with a full guild roster.
  • Guild PvP Leaderboards – Track guilds’ performance in both RBGs & BG Blitz.

Guild PvP Achievements Could Work Like PvE Guild Progression

PvE guilds farm raids to unlock mounts, titles, and achievements. Why don’t PvP guilds have the same?

  • “Warlords of the Battlefield” – Win 500 BGs as a guild and unlock an exclusive PvP mount.
  • “Bloodforged Champions” – Earn 5 million Honor as a guild to unlock a special transmog set.
  • “Dominance in Blitz” – Win 200 BG Blitz matches as a guild to earn a unique guild banner.
  • “Elite Battlegroup” – Reach 2.4k+ RBG rating as a guild and earn a prestige guild title.

Guild PvP Can Fix the Current Issues

Right now, solo queue dominates WoW PvP, but PvP guilds have no purpose. If Blizzard revives RBGs & adds a guild-based BG Blitz mode, we’d see:

  • Fewer AFKers & leavers – Guild teams are naturally more committed.
  • More structured & competitive PvP – Encouraging teamwork over solo queue chaos.
  • Better long-term engagement – Rewards & leaderboards keep guilds invested.

What do you guys think? Would guild-based RBGs & Blitz help fix some of these problems?

I honestly see no chance for RBG to come back, even with 8v8 it would only be the very same people that still queue 10v10 now.

From a pragmatic perspective, you can only slightly increase group size in blitz. Like duo DPS and 2DPS & 1healer. And I would also wish for 3s flex queue, rather than shuffle. A man can dream…

As for Guild Perks, I don’t think they will return. Especially since the suggestions here have the same problem like the perks from Cata. Just invite everyone, because more members = more points
