The vote to kick system needs changing. It enables abusive players and trolls to basically kick any player from a BG that they don’t like, with no way for the victim to prevent it and no recourse for the abuser.
It used to be that you got an idle message but these days it seems to be an instant kick if they report you.
I was in Wintergrasp back-capping workshops because my team were struggling to push through. I wrote into to chat to encourage people to take the workshops and push from both angles because they were not making progress all pushing from one side. One guy decides he doesn’t like that, declares that I am ‘losing time’ and asks the group to kick me. No more than 5 seconds later I am kicked with a 15 minute deserter debuff and 20+ minute queue.
The vote to kick system is supposed to be there to prevent abusive behavior and leaching but more often than not is leveraged as a weapon to pick on people. It needs to go.
You still get time to react to the afk debuff but if enough ppl vote you at the same time, you will get insta kicked from the bg. Even less ppl need to vote if the person who get reported wasn’t involved in any fight at all for some time.
I do agree its stupid to abuse the system but as someone who used to do BGs 8 Hours a day and still know ppl who are doing it for even more per day - there are so many ppl leeching every bg, we need a system like this and Im sure it outdeals the number of abuse.
There are many leachers but the first priority with any system should be to make sure trolls cannot use it as a weapon for abuse.
In an epic BG, when people cry in chat to kick someone, half the morons in there just do it because they’ve been told to.
A sensible revision to the system would be to remove the instant kick component and make it so any BG action (not just fighting players but contesting flags etc.) will remove the inactive debuff.
