I just wanted to say that the bidding system on the auction house sucks.
I bid 150K on a Shadowghast Ring that cost 170K. Later someone sold another ring for 120K and because of that the price dropped to 120K and then everyone else started to buy it for 120K. I also bought it for 120K gold because it was really cheap. I couldn’t cancel my bid which is really stupid and I tried to contact a GM to figure the situation out. I am new to bidding. But the Gm hasn’t answered in 16 hours. I now lost 150K gold. I can get it pretty easy again I know but it’s still 150K gold.
Honestly, I didn’t even realise that bidding was still a thing on AH. Who wants to wait for something.
But the price of legendaries are so volatile at the moment, it really is your own fault for not being patient and waiting for the price to inevitably drop.
this is more a problem of the legendary system, than the bidding system. They should just remove the Bid option, I’m surprised it even exists tbh.
How long do you want me to wait? The price will always drop. You could say the same thing 3 months from now since they will always drop. YOu have to buy it sometime.
Well it seems you didn’t need to wait long since it dropped 50k in the time that you placed the bid. For what? You were saving 20k from placing a bid rather than buying it outright?
Don’t get me wrong, 20k is a huge difference, but it’s not something that takes long to earn.
But also pay attention to what’s going on. Blizz a couple of days ago announced increased drop rates of all the pre 9.2 Crafting Materials and the Prog Essentia’s from 9.2 (I had 18 drop in one session yesterday). The intention of this was to help drive down the price of legendaries, and it looks like it’s starting to work.
I’d just argue, if you need to bid on something to get it cheaper, it’s already something you are willing to wait for. I didn’t even realise bidding was still a thing until I read your post. So I’d rather they just did away with bidding, it seems rather pointless in todays game, items are rare enough anymore.
