Big Problem in M+

Hello,

Recently I started playing on my rogue. I started with some PvP then I switched to PvE and doing some M+. I want to say that in my few runs (and I did +3 keys to begin with), i only completed two, because people left.

I find that a really big problem and I see no actions taken by Blizzard. I mean from little time that I have to play, I literally waste like 20 minutes inside a dungeon, not finishing it, because some players leaves after a wipe or other “reasons”.

I was thinking about some solutions for this problem and this is what I came up with:

1- If a player leaves party during an M+ run, it gets a penalty debuff that causes the player to receive no loot for the next X M+ dungeon (X is decided by Blizzard, but I personally think that 3 is a balanced number) / nor people can trade items from the M+ loot chest to the player with the debuff

2-If a player leaves party during an M+ run, it gets a debuff (like Deserter), for the whole week (until the next reset) that indicates the fact that he leaves party during an M+ run and ruined the people gameplay experience. This way, the players who invited him will see that debuff and it will remain at their decision if they want to play with a player that it will be possibly leave during mid dungeon.

I understand that there can be some emergencies for some people, but on the other hand, it is also our time and bad gameplay experience to take into consideration.

Personally, I find the second solution more approachable, due to its ease of implementation and also it shows the community who to avoid in order to, practically, play the game that we paid for and get the best experience out of it.

I sincerely hope that some Blizzard employee will read this and forward this feedback to the developers.

Cheers!

They’re quite clear about this issue; you make the group → you carry the responsibilities and consequences. We make the group (auto matchmaking) → we can handle early leavers.

A fair system, and I hope that it won’t change.

You seem to assume that all the leavers have ‘bad’ intentions. But, I’d argue that quite some leavers leave due to the group just failing to handle basic mechanics, not knowing the mechanics overall, terrible performances, not interrupting, standing in easy avoidable goo, etc.

Like yesterday, I ended up in a group who attacked the wrong boss in Mists (one has -80% damage taken, but that didn’t seem to ring a bell). Followed by getting hit by the add on the second boss several times and the balls. While not knowing the maze, or who to attack when that boss spawns 4 mirrors. Yeah, if leaving those groups leads to some debuff…you can bet your behind off that you’d kill pugging once and for all.

I mean, that’s a solution too; unable to make decent groups. Then people can’t leave either.

i´ve definitely left groups because they were hopeless in clearing the dungeon, but i always communicate that and usually they recognize their shortcomings and there´s no bad blood. It might be frustrating, but enforcing people keep on trying beyond reason is equally frustrating.
Maybe there could be some vote where if 4/5 want to keep on the 5th will be penalized for leaving, but i´m not sure that´s necessary.

Terrible suggestions once again, you can’t really hold people as hostages. And people would just alt+tab rather than leave the group.

There perfectly legitimate suggestions, but Blizzard would have to dedicate resources to develop and maintain it and it is much cheaper to just say “welp, it’s a personal problem”.

What you gona do when group decide that after all they wont be able to do that keye cos its to difficult or decidet to jsut call it during keye? Does first person to leave get debuff?
