I don’t want to highlight some classes here, but rather explain the basic problem. What is this problem? Simple answer: instant 1hits.
I understand this is SOD, place for experiments and making every classes viable, but viable and OP is two different things.
Later there will be more scaling with itemes, The whole SOD world pvp is going to be about who opens on and one hit others and they don’t even have time to react?
If they want to keep the vanilla feeling they should nerf the big numbers, especially the instans witch could do far more than acceptable damage in PVP. I think its not fun when someone have 2k HP and the other can hit 1400 with a single instant cast spell…
Rather have 1 shots then the znore fest with fights lasting for minutes at the time.
But give the 1 shot to everyone and compensate the melee for having to be in the face to do so.
I’m not saying that a fight should last for minutes, but not for 3-5 seconds either.
If you nerf all the numbers for PVP it will lead to a situation where PVE is dominated by the usual suspects. Even now two of the most OP classes in PVP: spriest and boomkin are below average PVE damage. A better solution would be to add more PVP gear, with stamina and some resilience equivalent or whatever.

I am by no means a great or even a good pvper, but OP and compared with spriest is pushing it a little.
I feel stronger on my 38 green geared hunter in the open world vs Horde.
I guess I can one shot ppl if they’re afk and the stars align where my starfire crits.
First of all, we should get a dual talent, and then maybe not only those pve talented characters who can also be used in pvp would be popular, PvP gear? Sure we need it too. If we talking about fair pvp damage numbers maybe the frost mage is a good example, still strong, but not OP AF like arcane. Im not sure how useful arcane in BGs but for open world its a joke, ppl just running around and 1hit someone every 2 minutes with arcane surge+blast+blast, this is the big skill combo… come on…
I think spells like arcane surge or starsurge or mind spike is just too much. I unerstand this is SOD they want to make classes viable, but to keep the ‘‘vanilla essence’’ a limit should have been drawn as to which expansions abilities are used. I think that if they had gone up to WOTLK abilities with all characters + useful passives that match them, the game would be more like “CLASSIC”, but spells like the prev mentioned ones are just too much when with other like hunter they stick to outdated things like vanilla autoshot, referring to the classic experience.
The point is that there are still many things that need some balancing.

Anything PvP-related cannot be the biggest problem because PvP as such is a minigame. Yes what you have said is true but there are other problems that are way worse, please do not exaggerate
litterally the only answer is more stamina. but they keep taking that away from items because they are inept at there jobs. short staffed or not its not hard to achieve to stop 1 shots

I think stamina is not enough, maybe at the moment it is, but with lvl 60 item scaling? I dont think so. Its just silly to put in spells like arcane surge or starsurge to the game, if you also want to keep the classic wibe in some ways. Lava burst is strong too but its okay, you have to cast it and the instant procc is like 5%. Big numbers are painfull but there is a difference between a 3+sec cast time BIG damage spell or an instant spell witch do the same damage.
