Black Rook Hold 😆

I just finished BRH 19 not on time which is fine. Everything was going quite smoothly (9 deaths) until the last boss. Here we hit with a road block. He was one shooting people (45 deaths until we killed it). I don’t mind having a challenge. But this on tyranical will be really hard.
Any suggestions how to improve survivability on the last boss phase two? My group is me (tank), druid (heal), warrior, paladin, elemental shaman.

Pop every deff CDs you can find for the first cast. After that it should be easy because then you will receive the buff

Pretty much this. It’s only the first shadowbolt volley that can oneshot. As a tank, you should be fine regardless, but you might as well throw a fiery brand out to make life easier for the healer.

druid = barkskin
warrior = iron bark + spell reflect / enrage regen
paladin = shield of vengeance or bubble
ele shaman = astral shift

that should be more than enough to survive the first shadow bolt volley.
I am not 100% sure if the spell can be reflected by the warrior but if not the druid and warrior are the weak link in this comp that have not high dmg reduction skills.
after it goes of you quickly need to heal up because of the dot. pre hotting + convoke should more than suffice I guess.

Well, people have timed that key on +25 so it’s just skill issue I guess.

Yes and that is what I came here to consult about. What my group can improve for the next time when we do it.

It can also depend a bit on ilvl and specs, of course. Like if i press my bubble on my paladin on that cast, it is not really skill. I survive, and can even press a blessing of sacrifice on a target with a less strong defensive. Add an AugEvoker and you survive even higher keys.
It can be quite hard for some random spec groups.

The “hard” parts of this fight are

  1. The first shadow bolt volley comes before you have the buff. You need a peraonl to survive the initial hit. On a 19 fort this should just mean “pressing a button”. Every class should have something. The healer will need to react pretty quickly to top people (but they know its coming)
  2. Stinging swarm hurts a LOT. Nuke it asap.

It’s extremely predictable, its pretty much a binary “do I survive this hit or not” check.

Just to expand a bit of what someone already said, you have the following personals:

Barksin + bear form for druid, defensive stance + spell reflect + enraged regen for warrior, bubble for paladin and astral shift + earth ele HP for shaman.

On top of that you also have iron bark and blessing of sacrifice, which should go to warrior and shaman since they are the most squishy.
