Hello,
I already opened a ticket but I wanted to see if anyone here would have any insight about that issue.
Since today, without any previous issues, whenever I start playing, and after a few seconds / minutes, windows plays the disconnected/connected device sound and the screen turns to black. Shortly after that the screen goes into power saving mode / no signal. I can still speak with people on Discord, the game sound goes on without a care in the world.
The only way I can get a display back is to reboot the computer.
The only thing that changed on my computer since yesterday is that I bought a new keyboard. But plugging in the old keyboard don’t fix the issue.
So far it has only happened in WoW.
I reinstalled my graphic drivers and I checked the temperatures and they are more than fine.
If anyone has any insight…
Are you by chance using one of the new RTX cards? A couple people are having issues right now with it, maybe a new driver? I haven’t had any issues on my GTX 1660Ti
If so try rolling back to an older version and see if it helps.
I’m using a 3 years old gtx 970!
The only driver update that happened is the one I did after the crashes. I already tried reverting to an older driver but to no avail.
Try running in DX11, multiple people reported artifacting / flickering in DX12 and or CMAA.
Do you have an iGPU? If so disable that.
You could also disable the Discord overlay, I always have issues with that in WoW
Discord overlay is alrady disabled. I’ll check about DX11 though. My iGPU is already disabled.
Thanks for your time and everything!
Are you playing in DX12? There is a bug right now (win10, driver or game itself idk) that crash the game if its in DX12 and auto switches to 11 (atleast for me). DX11 runs well but i do see some 0.5 1sec freezes here and there too. Other games run perfectly in DX11 and 12.
I am on win7 and I’m pretty sure that I’m already using DX11.
