Black screen on every launch, cannot change settings?

Ok, so after renaming folders and resetting all in-game settings I actually managed to get into the game… however, I apparently can’t change a single setting in the game menu without having this piece of trash blackscreen again on every launch?
I don’t use any addons, so that aint the problem.
Discord overlay wasnt problem either since I have had that crap turned off for over a year now.

I mean, I cannot literally change a single audio or graphic setting, you mean I am now supposed to play the game on default low to be able to play at all?

update: this illustrious piece of software actually blackscreens on every launch even if I don’t change any settings while in-game… only way to play now is to reset everything (that has not even been changed) from battlenet wow-options before launching.

update 2:

Ok, now even reseting everything before launch wont fix the blackscreen. Game is unplayable at the moment.

update 3:

Apparently resetting everything TWICE before launch helps, also guessing that next time I exit the game I have to reset stuff 3 times etc. etc…

Hey Scarlet,

Did you reset the in-game options through the Blizzard App, and have you tried to repair the game files?

Additionally, make sure to read the Community Code of Conduct before posting again or creating new threads. You can find the Code of Conduct here: http://eu.battle.net/en/community/conduct.

Have a few seconds to spare? Let me know how I’m doing!

Yes, like I thought I just said.

Yes, thought this was obvious, since everyone else in other threads already posted that it doesnt help, only resetting stuff has been a temporary fix.

Problem Still remains, after exiting the game, I have to reset settings TWICE (seriously, not even kidding, one reset does nothing, have to open the options and do this at least twice :D) from blizzard app to get into the game without a blackscreen again… even if I have not changed any settings while in game.

Your problem is easily diverted by deleting config.wtf file in the WTF folder in WoW directory. And don’t open V-Sync until further notice. That’s the one making black screens atm.

At the moment, graphics settings are bugged. Whenever I try to change Triple Buffer setting or my current graphics card setting in game back to back, game crashes. If I change one of them (doesn’t have to be in that order) game starts stuttering.

Nah, deleting folders didn’t do nothing, like I already said. Had to reset the settings from the blizzard app (twice and thrice) to prevent Blackscreen on launch.
And I assume I have to keep doing this, probably in increments, on every single launch from now on.

I haven’t had vsync on ever, nor do I have now.

edit: if you still don’t understand the problem, it is that I cannot change a single setting in the game, cos I have to reset everything before launch to avoid the blackscreen. cos currently a full reset is the only thing that makes the game work.
And playing with default settings is kinda… meh.

i am constantly getting this plucking black screen every time i start the game, i resubbed for this crap. i delete the wtf folder does nothing i reinstall my gfx drivers does nothing i done every i can on this and us forum and they do nothing what the fep is going on with this game sitting here with a black screen.

I was having sudden stutter problems( I still have them), tried to turning on and off to find what caused it, I couldn’t find what caused stutters, I figured, at least on my own computer, when I turned on v-sync in the game, it went black. I had to reset because of it. You’re not the only one experiencing same problems, and blues are giving generic answers, they do this like doctors, before attempting to do something serious, they’re trying to diagnose to see if there are simpler solutions.
But by now, almost everyone knows the basics.

As a suggestion to blues; CM’s should see the amount of time you’ve been playing the game and suggest stuff accordingly imo. That way you won’t irritate the guy who has done everything and waiting the game he wants to play, to work.

I’ve got the same issue and i’ve done everything you said. Only option for me is restart whole computer ( and it is not working every time ).
