If you picked armour and weapon smithing as your first 2 specs in smithing, theres no way to ever get past level 65 in smithing, the only things you can get a skillup from cost a spark of ingenuity
you cant unlearn your crafting spec (i lost all my levels trying to relearn)
Please fix, ive spent 20+ hours grinding ingredients and leveling up and now i found out that because i made the wrong choice i will never be able to level up blacksmithing again.
I couldnt agree more. I have the same problem. Wasted so many hours playing thinking that it will be fun. And it was, even though i thought that i wont even play this expansion, but after making the same mistake im locked and cant do anything. So annoying! No info on what i MUST choose, no taking back, just here you go player base and go screwdriver yourself. Ok, then when im pissed this much all i can do is leave this game right after i just started to play after a year break because it was boring. Goodbye dragon riding, that was fun
This is a little frustrating. I’m in the exact same boat. I’ve probably spent 100,000g trying to level this up, at one point I was mind blown then I thought this is a joke I google’d it read your post now baffled… have this issue be resolved yet or?
Blacksmithing starts out fun, maybe a little sparse on plans, but you soon get hard stuck at 65. The only skill-ups come from the highest level plans which, as mentioned, cost sparks.
Have you looked at the crafting orders? With thoose you don’t need to supply the spark. You use the costumers spark instead. So to level up the proffesions we either need to find orders among the public orders or we can take personal orders from other players. I did the personal order route and was posting in trade chat what i could craft which led to people placing orders. I’ve got it maxed by doing this so it is not impossible.
If you don’t even have a recepie that uses a spark, meaning you dont even have a way to get skill points (like i did) you can farm renown for new recepies which uses sparks or buy recepies from AH which will grant you crafting exp. This is a feature of the game and will not be changed. Since if you go into making materials cheap and not specialize in crafts there should be a trade off.

It wont be required. Might be a smaller market but it’s still there. And we are literally on the second week of the expansion and you are already saying you are stuck? How much time have you spent in trade chat trying to find crafts? Do you require a tip for crafting it at lower level? We will have plenty of sparks in a few weeks so you can always wait and hope that you have some nice guildies that would not mind helping you level using their sparks since they/you can upgrade them. But yeah they could have made it easier for crafters to find people to craft for (similar to the order system but for crafters).
But if you really want to level you just need to farm renown and craft profession tools. They do not require a special specialization to craft and do not cost sparks. You can also get more spec points each week meaning you can find a easier spec route and start going for it.
I haven’t been able to see anything in that list this week, and the times I have seen something on it in the past, I didn’t have that particular recipe.
The orders are completed extremely fast because it is essentially the only way to skill up effectively. I’d imagine some of the more serious players camp them just to skill up.
