Blade dance with Cycle of Hatred question

Morning all,

Hope everyone is well! Just after some advice as icy-veins and wowhead vary a little on the use of blade dance with cycle of hatred. I am, at the moment, under the impression that essentially I do not use blade dance under any circumstance as the CD reduction on eyebeam is more beneficial in AoE. However, I do not know if I am missing something here and should still be using it as the wowhead rotation implies?

I have simmed myself out of curiosity and it does appear with my current talents that blade dance is a very small amount of my damage over the course of an AoE encounter.

Is anyone able to throw some clarity my way? I would really appreciate it!

If you are running COH you death sweep (when in meta) on 2+ targets and blade dance on 3+ targets

Bimbolo is correct. Furthermore there are Weak Auras that detect your spec, whether you are Meta or not and the amount of enemies in melee and will outright light up when it’s beneficial DPS wise to use Blade Dance/Death Sweep.

Is it only on 2 targets in Meta? So no Sweep in Meta on single?

You only use sweep/blade dance on 1 target if you play first blood talent or chaos theory legendary.
But if you play COH, you shouldn’t be pairing it with Chaos Theory.

Funny how two things seem to belong together but dont work at all.

As everybody said.
Bladedance with Firstblood - always
Death sweep with FB - always
Bladedance without FB - 3+ targets
Death Sweep without FB- 2+ targets

In pure ST without Firstblood you only have Demons Bite (which you should change to demons blade at around 20% baseline hast) and Chaos strike in your rotation and keep Eyebeam, GT and covenant ability on CD.
Immolation aura is a dps los in ST. I am not sure if the conduit pushes it into the ST rotation.

It should. I see top loggers use it on Sludge, as Eye Beam build.

The Conduit makes it worth using, but I think even without it it’s worth using, because it does way more dmg than a Demon’s Bite while producing 20 Fury and being usable outside of melee ( you can pop it while you run back to Sludge with chain )

Well thanks for clearing that up i had no idea about IA and asked myself often if it is worth in ST :slight_smile:

If nothing else you can Arcane Torrent pre-pull into Immo Aura on pull ( so you don’t lose the fury ) for an eye beam
