Cast two blinks infront of a curb in an arena and went nowhere
Blink through the bridge in ironforge
Blink through the bridge in firelands raid
etc etc...
Anybody else?
Fix?
- Every texture border, little rock or 5 pixels platform, strand of grass, etc. can break Blink/Shimmer. For example on Zul in Uldir, if you blink directly to platform it'll bug, but if you blink with "some angle" sometimes it's ok, sometimes it bugs.
- Sometimes on a completely flat surfaces with two textures Blink/Shimmer stuck at texture border, sometimes doesn't.
- Every uneven terrain is a mess. Like blinking on Azerite WQ... it's just a mess, sometime you go up/down the hill, sometimes you don't? on the same hill.
- Sometimes you can blink from a bridge to the land, sometime you can't on the same bridge.
- Sometime you can blink up/down the stairs, sometime you can't.
- etc... very unpredictable and unreliable.
- It's so very frustrating when you die or can't do something (like place an orb in G'huun minigame) because ability didn't do what it suppose to do.

Completely agree with you - it's 2018 already, 2019 is very near, and BfA pre-patch made Blink bug even worse than it was in Legion.
Rogues teleports never bug, no matter how fast I move (engineering boost/pots), so game can calculate path fast enough. Other classes mobility also doing good. Mages mobility is Bug-RNG. Very frustrating.
As a mage using blink, to ensure it works as intended we need to have used it from that position, in the specific direction we want to go, before.
Knowing how blink works in every environment differentiates the experienced mage from the newly fledged mage.
I'm not saying it's okay for the ability to be a little wonky, but my experience with the ability is that it's results are predictable if the blink have been used in a specific location before.
So the narrative I tell myself, is that mages need to know everything about their environment and understand it to have their magic work!

I get it, and doing something similar myself, just so I don't get frustrated by bugs more and more. But maybe this kind of acceptance is what keeping this bug from being fixed for all those years. And with this, I'm not even sure that other bugs like Orbs/Charged Up... are going to be fixed this expansion. Why would anyone spend time fixing them if majority of players just accept it and tries to turn them in some kind of skill or feature.
It's not like those bugs are in our favor, they limiting us, so it's ok. I'm sure, if Blink was bugged like Blink through walls or sometimes for twice the distance with 1 blink - it would be fixed in the next hotfix.
Discussion of bugged mage' abilities most of the time happens like:
- Frost Orb is bugged! ... So? Just pick a talents and you can place it to avoid the bug.
- Arcane Orb bugged! ... So? Next time you would know not to use it in that place to avoid bug.
- Charged Up/Time Anomaly bugged ... who cares, bad luck, doesn't happen all the time.
- Blink .....
So, it's all good, no fixes needed.
Yeah, all that above is a bit angry, but Mage is getting more and more bugs ... and nothing, no fixes, no blue posts, no response for countless bug reports, ... just more bugs and posts about how players cope with them. It's frustrating.

That is actually very useful to know! I didn't know that and I !@#$ed up the pools aaalll the time... Thanks!

Doubtful, thus far all we've seen are a 5% nerf to comet storm, a 2% frost buff, a massacre of frost's slows and a buff to an arcane azerite power.
Then we have some wording changes (oooh big changes) to some talents/etc that don't affect anything and 2 new frost elemental glyphs.
I think we've largely been forgotten, considering the scope of change in some classes, whilst we can't even get an almost 14 year old bug fixed.

They should change the wording of Blink while they're at it.
Blink - Has a 1/4 chance to teleport you 20yds forwards, unless something is in the way. In that case, teleports you 5yds backwards into danger.
Bug’s come and go, what nags me the most is just not working as intended under specific circumstances. Why do the 4 arcane charges reset up attacking a raid boss? It does not matter if the charges are gathered on the mobs or being activated by the talent Charged Up. Using Arcane Blast for the first time at the start of encounter resets the 4 charges to 1. So trying to maximize your opening burst on an encounter is useless and it also makes the talent Charged Up less desirable.
you don’t even need something in front of you to ruin blink. Jump and you might blink backwards. Even if the surface is flat.
I report it as a bug everytime it happens in the hope that it will piss off whoever has to monitor all the bug reports.
What’s really hilarious about this bug is that your mana costs are as if you have 4 charges, but your damage is as if you have 1
Just time Charged Up as close as possible, to the millisecond, after pull happened. NOT during countdown to pull, and NOT at 0 because tank can only start pulling at 0.
You need to time it with the first hit on boss (a millisecond later), and there will be no problems, except Charged Up GCD + RoP cast + AP GCD… and only after that you can start doing damage with a feeling of wasted seconds on damage CDs because of GCD.
I’m doing it all the time. Bug happened - I reported it. Or counted number of times it happened and reported a summ at the end of game-session.
more players doing it = more chances they’ll fix it already to stop all that, or maybe they’ll ban us from Support system for reporting bugs, haha.
2020 btw, not fixed
Thanks for the reply. It realy helps to advance the discussion or bring it to the attention of the developers
