Blitz is not intuitive

Why does Blitz use different rules and player sizes compared to regular RBGS? Nobody asked for new rules and fewer players.

If you increase the players to 10, it will be 2 more DPS per healer, which helps queues.

If you use a normal BG ruleset, it’s more intuitive to jump into Blitz.

If you remove increased mount speed, it gives better tactical outplay potential as people can’t rotate fast enough while you are 1v1 for that base, etc…

I agree with the issue, but I think the blitz format is overall much nicer and I would not want to go back to the slower pace of random bgs.

Ofc you don’t, you play healer. You want to rotate fast to the action. But as a dps we want more time for 1v1 before the healer comes and tops him in 1 global.

I also prefer it on my hunter, mage, ret etc. …

And I think the sentiment is shared by many. The only map I don’t like so much is DWG, because it is just too big. Arathi is already stretching it.

Blitz is ok and about that 1v1. Wow was never balanced around 1v1 so get this thing out of your head.
You want 1v1? Go Dornogal and duel people there.

u find flag capture intuitive in blitz? if u get dumped into eye of storm for first time ur gonna get flamed if everyone in bg chat is silent before start

More dps per healer increase queue? Explain how that works. :thinking:

A change in the dps to heal ratio would not just impact the queue times, but also the overall feel of the game. 2 more dps to snare & dps any fc, … more dps that throw random stuns / disorients at healers. Games would develop into the same clown fiesta that we can see in random bgs.

Btw: I also think it would INCREASE queue times, because you need 4 additional players per match, in bracket that is short on players. Healers are not the bottleneck, total player number is. My queue time as healer is identical to my queue time as shadow.

Two more dps to just tunnel the healer even in the queue is not something that will help blitz.

Yes, but healers are already OP in Blitz, which is why they had to aura nerf healing by 10%. You can revert that change and add 2 more DPS, maybe increase the set bonus to compensate further.

Bottleneck for low rated Blitz is healers, in your rating it’s players.

Or just learn to BG and do it as is. They’re fine as they are now. The biggest problem is people not taking 5 min to look up the best tactic for the bg or listening to those that do know. In Eye of the Storm for example you can either take a base or stand in the middle of the road. Most players will pick the road.

I misread and thought you meant just adding 2 more in to the BG to deal with healers. My bad.

You describe the exact problem - it’s unintuitive and nothing like the BGs you usually play.

Why does it need to be different rule set you can not practice outside of Blitz? Why is there no practice mode (hint BOTS hint).

From a learnability point of view, it’s just bad. And relying on third-party sources is also a lazy concept, albeit most of the playerbase have come to terms with it.

It’s not the end of the world, it’s not the most important thing to fix, but IT IS an overall issue, especially for bringing new people into the game mode.

You dont really have a practice mode for the regular versions either and people who join the first time don’t know what to do and where to go either.

Exactly, and people dont need to be perfect in something they try for the first time. Nowhere is it said that people need to “be good” in something they do for first time, everyone start from somewhere.
