“We realised as soon as we came out with Warlords of Draenor boost to 90, we knew that there was going to be demand for more than 1,” - Ion Hazzikostas
“It’s tremendously awkward to tell someone that you should buy two copies of the expansion just to get a second 90.” - Ion Hazzikostas
When WoD was released and boost was introduced, from an interview made by Eurogamer.
So it seems these stand true today. There is demand for buying more than one boost per account and people will be forced to make new subscriptions to buy another boost.
So what has changed Blizz?

I’ll likely buy it on both my subs. There seems to me no real reason why someone couldnt buy as many boosts as they want, as long as boosts only take them to beginning of the expansions content.
Nobody should force you to play irrelevant for literally days in order to experience the new parts of the game.

This is not about whether boosts are good or not. Just a display of blatant hypocrisy from Blizz where the exact same arguments used to justify a multi-purchase service for retail is apparently no good here, without any reason as to why.
When they get you used to the idea of buying one they’ll quickly remove the restriction.
The only way they don’t do that is if they realise that people will pay multiple concurrent subs to boost multiple chars.

Yes they will probably do it mid-TBC or at the latest, for Wrath release, saying something like “We want to make it easier for people who want to switch main class to still raid with their friends, or for people who don’t want to make more accounts to make more characters”

are you saying you want more than 1 boost per account?
LOL RIP
in all seriousness though stop trolling.

I don’t want boost. I am just saying Blizz is purposefully being disingenuous when providing their arguments in order to fit their plans for profits.

so what, there shouldnt be any boosts in tbc
blizzard is rubbing their hands together celebrating with a bottle of champagne waiting for all the new accounts to start flowing in, think of how many players want to boost multiple alts,
before spending that £200 to boost 4 alts theyre going to pay a buck load more each month
Yes of course, that is the highlight of this thread. To showcase Blizz’s hypocrisy in order to make more money.
i think its a good thing
if you want to get a head start, skip half the game, rushing end game content
you should pay more,
if you dont want to give blizzard the satisfaction, then its simple, play the damn game
As I said above, this is thread is not about whether boosts are good or not, it’s simply to showcase that Blizz argues however they see fit to meet their ends.
of course, they’re a company, if their target market rejected their business plan they wouldn’t do it, they would go back to the drawing board and think of new offers.
however the target market has welcomed the business plan with open arms, so if their idea is going to meet their ends why would they not do it
I’m happy for people to spend money boosting as many chars as they want. I don’t think people who dislike vanilla should be forced to play through literal days of content they don’t enjoy to be able to play the more modern quest hub design with their already level 60 friends.

if you dislike doing something its simple, dont do it, do something else
But it is perfectly possible to dislike classic content but like TBC content, nobody should be forced to play a game they don’t enjoy to later play a more modern version of it. Blizzard have offered an alternative that you don’t have to use. You can if you want but it is not compulsory.
you think a 58 boost is going to magically take away days of grinding?
rep, have fun grinding rep in tbc, all the way to exalted, not just 1 rep but many
professions, you want bis gear? have fun grinding the mats to craft it, you’ll have little gold from boosting so dont expect to get it quick either
attuments, just like classic there will be attuments to raid
speaking of raiding, consumables, you wont have alch becasue boosting doesnt include profs, youll have little gold from boosting so wont be able to buy them off the AH so you’ll have to grind gold, more grinding
boosting wont fix the fact players dont want to be forced to do days of content they dont like, the grind will still be there

I’m well aware of the content that TBC offers. The grinding there though is much less and can be done with friends without asking them all to reroll and continue to play in old content.
I’d rather spend a few days playing with my friends grinding rep that’s useful to the stage of the game I am interested in playing than questing on my own or looking at the wall in Mara waiting to leave and re-enter the instance.
I have plenty of level 60’s all future ones will be paid boosts.

Because you aren’t buying expansions on top of it.
One time boost only, and it should be for a limited time only.
I say on either TBC pre patch or on TBC launch, it should only be available for 1 week.
