I use the Blizz UI and had a custom profile, BUT I had a lot of client crashes lately so I removed all my addons , logs, cache, wtf dir… and the like
NOW I have a problem I never had before, MY PROFILE is GONE, completely and I cannot restore it, I save my Whole Wow directory not just retail dir and even if I completely use this copy the profile is still gone.
WHY?
I save my fing WTF and Addon folders regularly just so Things like this do not happen…
It was implied in the Support article but not actually said that these things may be saved on the server …
So is this actually the case ? WHY is this done? All UI addons save their stuff under WTF? How should I have known I need to export my UI to be able to restore it?
I am very angry right now, because this UI was not done in one day… oh yes and my key bindings seem to have also vanished completely… SRSLY why can this not be saved where I already know most settings are stored ans which I already copy for safety?
So IF this is store somewhere on my PC PLEASE tell me where else , please change this so this is at least saving the export string in the WTF dir so I can restore it that way?
Edit : I seriously hate wow client jsut now even without any addons or anything I get client crashes constantly. Soon I’ll just stop playing, in April my yearly sub is renewing… so I guess I will just not do that , I mean I want to play not constantly reload, it started with the last patch and even reinstalling did not help. And it seems Mircrosoft now removed the last few Forum Techies that ever answered to anything in EU.
Solution: So I got my UI back after hours of trying. It is indeed saved in the WTF directory somewhere, there is this edit-mode-cache*.txt under the wow account name, which contains the UI settings, but only bringing this file back does nothing.
Only thing that helped, putting the complete WTF dir I had saved a week or so ago back in after deleting the current one… I could log in and choose the profile in edit mode again… geez, still don’t know what the final factor was why it is working now again but I don’t care.
These crashes though … still happen even when I reset the whole settings… Temperature is ok on my PC … I have no solution for it…
