Blizzard artificially keeping solo shuffle ratings low (mmr cap)

According to https://seramate.com/?region=eu there are more Solo Shuffle players than Blitz players, yet shuffle rating is capped at 2100 while Blitz rating goes up to almost 3k. Can we get a fix for the shuffle mmr? Not sure what point there is to force players out of solo shuffle when it’s the most popular pvp bracket in the game

I understand the idea of mmr capping to not let ratings explode like SL s2 or DF s1. But i don’t get why they would cap it at such a low number like 2100-2200 instead of 3k and why that cap only applies to shuffle and maybe 2s. Blitz ratings seem to explode and 3s looks healthy as well

Why not though? That’s literally the easiest way to boost activity and increase/maintain sub numbers.

Another issue is that healers and dps MMR is seperated in Shuffle which makes both pools more deflated while in blitz it’s not and therefore even less activity results in more natural inflation.

Funny, nobody complained about shuffle mmr cap before
Even lowrated players doesn’t care, nobody cares. I predict 2 weeks more and maybe 1 guy reach 2.4.
3 month later and 100 more people will be above 2.4
This happened because people who only play for glad every season, meaning reaching 2.4-2.5 and 50 wins and then instantly dropping game, complained how it is easy to get 2.4 for ugliest tabards in this game. Why did blizzard listened to them only 1 time and this was about soloq mmr? Who tf knows

I’m not saying i’m for the capping. I just think i know why it’s there. I’m with you here, let the ratings go up and get us players playing the game.
It kinda made sense in DF to not have a huge gap between 3s and shuffle ratings, but now it’s the opposite.
Uncap mmr and increase inflattion for the brackets which have a deficit

It doesn’t even make sense to have a rating system for rewards if it’s all gated due to artificial caps that they’ll ease up on later.

At that point they might as well just move over to a battle pass type of system where you’ll get the rewards guaranteed no matter what, as long as you play.

This would entice a lot of new people to flood the scene too because the rewards would actually be obtainable for them. Some will get them faster and some will get them slower.

I’m not even queuing shuffle atm on my main priest because the highest holy priest is 1900 something and I’m almost 1700 but there’s a wall of disc priests and I seriously cba fighting against a spec with serenity on a 6 sec cd and spammable for several casts with rapture & oracle. If there had been a battle pass type of system for the rewards I would just send it continously, instead I sit and wait for disc priest nerfs.

That would be a participation reward and i would quit on the spot.

I am already 2.1k while try hard shufflers are stuck at rival :laughing:
It must suck to be a shuffler right now. I love it.

I think main reason is one, atm game is unbalanced. When u can reach only 2100 u couldnt see this diference as much as its goes to 3000. Now u have few players around 2100, when weaker specialization gets max 1800-1900, its looks not bad. if they unlock 3000 its show the truth about state of game.
Few class will dominate ladder with rating 2500-3000. when rest will had problems getting more than 2000-2200.
800 raiting is much easier to see than 200.
That will create another problem. when u rech that wall, u will play only against this few clas.
Something like that happens on mop when ret hunt heal was too strong forna while. In that time above 1900 2/3 arena was against them.

Getting high ratting with unbalanced class is like exploit the game. U get higer rating that u would get when game would fair balanced. For true honor fighter its shame and disgusting. Its like play with cheets in shooter games.

Those 50 wins glads, was always veiled with shadow… and cannot be respected to be real.
I smell one big wintrade burger each time I saw them

Blizzard shoud not allow them to keep high position, I think some form of rating decay shoud not hurt or minimum amount of games played, and shoud do some investigation to check with who they play and if their scores are legit.

Truth is:
If they are skilled they woud continue playing, since their ratting is product of wintrade, they cannot continue playing because if they play regulary ratting will drop, if they continue wintrade they will catch ire of blizzard, in booth ways they cannot keep pace… So for them its only option to wintrade to high ratting than stop.

BTW. Do you really think that is possible and realistic for players who didnt loged for a while, to come in season like god of PvP and get 90% win ration in his entire 55 games campagin? WINTADING im 99% sure in their case, but who Im I to judge, its blizzard fault if they allow them to take legit players positions and deny legit playes of their rewards and titles, shame even.

This is actually one of the biggest issues of solo shuffle!

I am not against the idea of a MMR cap, as it can make the rating numbers comparable across the season, but

  1. It should be higher IMHO
  2. It has to be kept consistent across the seasons to have any kind of value.

Which is obviously NOT what blizz is trying to do, they are just trying to artificialy slow the player drop off during the season, so they can show some silly graphs at the next shareholder meeting or something. As usual.

I swear this is bait from blizz to get marketing out for blitz. I love blitz don’t get me wrong, but solo and 3s getting done dirty rn
