As said in the title I want to know if versatility has a cap or soft cap.
People running around with 40% versa getting 2 shot still, it feels like there is a cap but no one knows.

Why don’t we run a test?
Take a spell and apply it to 2 people, one with high versa and one with 0 versa.
Doesn’t tell me if there is a cap or what %

Hit somebody with 40% dmg reduction through versa, if they take 40% less dmg there’s no cap yet.
40% gives you 20% reduced and there is still no way to calculate it as damage is so random. I mean for me as a DK at least.
Maybe a caster can test it.
But even then if there is a. Cap you wouldn’t be able to work out what the cap is unless you hit some round figures normally

Get a rogue to kidney you and get hit by a fixed dmg source, like BotD.
OP you wish to know if there’s a cap, this is how you find out if it exists or not. I’d say it’s worth finding that out before fiddling with what % the cap kicks in.

I’m stacking versa as much as possible. But is that the right way to go? Even if you have 20% versa baseline, is that even worth something vs 140k pyro’s, chaos bolts, infinite stars, other corruptions etc?
Feels like it’s not.
Even between 1400 - 1600 rating I’m facing PvE gods with 465+ ilvl roflstomping everything in their way, wtf are these ppl doing at low ratings?
In wotlk I used to be easy 2k+ rating. Now I’m having hard time reaching 1.8 on my pala main. I’m not running heroic raids, I’m trying to build some RIO to get inv to M+10.
It’s stupid tbh. I faced a few guys the other day who both had R3 tentacles. I went down faster than Boeing 737 Max plane. In a matter of 10 seconds they did 600k dmg through tentacles alone. Even more than the chaos bolts hitting me.
What do I do vs that?

It does work only for the versa that provide from the essence if I’m right and not for the entire versa you get.
Doubles the damage reduction effect of your Versatility rating when stunned.
Says black on white that it’s all of your versatility.
It works for the hole % you have before receiving the stun.
I mean it doesn’t matter anyway if there is a cap I wanted to know for base stats not proc.

I’m sincerely confused what you want answered then.
At what % versa soft caps 20% 30% 40% 50% base stat.
Why I want to know is that you can stack the versa 12% buff 4 times and get stupid amounts of versa but is it worth.
Most stats have soft caps
But you’re unsure if it has one, so why not figure out if it even exists in the first place?
I don’t think any of the other stats have a softcap anymore.
the reduction you get depends on that from what i believe ,that hp/gear percentage you’re losing on your versatility not your total of what you see.
like if it is 3~4% the 13 percentage will almost seems like 20%. i feel 13~12% is the best spot.

Not true as a melee 25% haste is global cap. Casters benefit more from haste.
Other stats normally soft cap and you don’t gain as much from stacking past so it’s less beneficial.
I’ve never seen anything from blizz that confirms this.
90% of the blue posters probably don’t know the answer tbh.
Strange, I’m on 36% haste and it still scales lineary. Getting hero also makes me use globals faster so 
I’m going to make the assumption that it isn’t the case for other stats as well. My GF plays with 50% crit on her feral, still scaling lineary.
