Today logging into wow i was playing normally as always until i ran into a issue where my game was just randomly locking up and then my computer locked up as well… After driver updates and reinstalls i found out that its my Blizzard desktop client thats causing the issue and launching wow through the files without using the desktop client cause the game to work correctly. i reinstalled the desktop client ran files check and repair and nothing seems to have it working again.
Wanna know if anyone els is having this issue and if so and fixed it what steps they took?
A hard lock up is indicative of potential Hardware issues. However, after the reinstall, clearing your Battle.net cache files could also help:
- Press windows key + R
- Type %programdata%
- Click OK
- Rename the Battle.net and Blizzard Entertainment folders
- Repeat this for %appdata% and %localappdat%
One other change is to test if disabling the Hardware acceleration for the battle.net application in the settings menu helps.
Thank you for getting back in touch with me! I did some troubleshooting further and found out it was my SSD that was showing me the red light of life X_X Moved it to another SSD and its working fine now!
