Of course. But the economic advantage side-effect is also plausible. One can only hope for people being reasonable and not resorting to AH manipulations or whatever. But judging by the stories about the layering exploits in this thread… It’s safe to assume people will take advantage of it.
I’ll say again, how is that any different from anyone joining the game after the game has been released?
It’s a live MMO. What do you expect?
More people on a low pop server is a good thing.
Yes, but it might kill it as well.
Sure but why wouldnt it be a good incentive if it was only level 40s?(tobe fair even thats a bit high) Lots of people who are behind would get an urge.
Urge for what? Catching up, do some sort of server first?
Is that a problem for you?
Id say most people over 40 will stay on their high pop servers. People that high obviously aren’t having trouble with the queues.
Thats hopeful. Then it wouldn’t be an issue making it required to be under, right?
Unless an entire guild decides to move and completely kill the server “first’s” as you put and also control the market for the next 4-5 months.
Or what if no server transfers are allowed and low pop realms like Judgement are dead in a couple months?
The pros outweigh the cons imo.
The hypocrisy about this thread is that, there is no community, if something happens you just layer solve everything. the world is empty too
or wait a week or so and let see how the server is then?
In that situation I see no reason why both the newest realms (Bloodfang Judgement) can’t be merged.
Judgement Pop is declining so I dont see that working out too well.
To follow up on my previous post, focusing our message on the presumably negative behaviors of these “try-hards” and “exploiters”, seems frankly a bit puerile and petty.
No matter who ends up transferring over, the main issue is that those are likely going to characters twice ahead in progression in regards to everything - levels, gear, reputations, professions, wealth - you name it.
If one or two highly progressed guilds decide to move, it won’t be them transferring to our realm, it will in effect be us transferring to their realm.
It spoils what is for many what drew them to WoW Classic in the first place, and what many missed out on in the original game - the chance to watch and be a part a realm’s progress through the game in an organic way.
In a couple of months the head start will be meaningless, but right now the origin realm has had been around for twice as long as the target one. People are already farming MC/Ony on Razorgore. We over on Bloodfang we’re still trying to reach 12 slot bags.
Blizzard are never going to merge servers they just opened a few days ago. Talk sense.
Bloodfang Judgement merged, easy. Server thats midd pop and giving new players that like to try wow classic a Good start. Easy. Merged later if its going to be A problem. In vanillia you dident get merged to the newest server after 6 month, now we are talking like 5 days, open opp to the elites lvl 60 and shi…t
During the whole discussion I was thinking “what the hell is wrong with having higher levels transfer to your realm?”. But this actually makes sense.
When I think back to my Vanilla Experience, I joined Hellscream PvE server. Everyone leveling up, guilds forming, raids starting. Some guilds getting famous for their advancements and so on. If at some point a few fully level 60’s and MC raiding guilds would have been dropped in with no history on the realm, and directly degrading the current top guilds to subpar, that would have been a big blow to the authenticity of that realm.
