True
But it is still legal
N’zoth dargon, lego bow, I’m quite happy for boosting exist actually
I’ve gold, but my time is limited and I love to have stuff
Question. Why should I use the boost channel if everyone is going to hide it? Will I get punished if I still use the trade channel to advertise boosts? Because they wrote nothing about it
Thats right but ppl cant understand that.
Rolling the words around on my mental tongue, I don’t think so.
Try this:
All boosts are carries, but not all carries are boosts.
A boost is a carry with intent - one that is pre-arranged/pre-agreed to be a carry.
I could come out of an LFD and say “Whoa, that tank carried us” - by which I would mean, he was so better geared or skilled that he got the rest of us through it when we would otherwise have struggled or failed. But unless we had arranged with the tank in advance, I wouldn’t say he had boosted us.
If we say someone is selling carries, then that would be the same as saying they are selling boosts, but carries can just happen, whereas boosts are always planned.
I don’t feel this is exactly right though. I could boost a friend or even a stranger through a dungeon without payment. It seems more natural to say it’s the intent or agreement that makes the difference,
Same thing. But boost sound better to sell than carry. So they chose the word ‘boost’.
Carry = Boost
Boost = Carry

With a Solomonic decision, Carry is a boost that could be voluntary or involuntary even free, while boosting is always voluntary but could be free?
The thing that Blizzard tries to stop is those kingpins who made a fortune mediating for RMT boosting.
They are more than happy as long as the real money all goes to them.
I like it when my neighbour gives me free food
It BOOSTS my gains
Well ofcourse they are, RMT training is something banned across the genre this isnt an outlier for WoW to say no to RMT.
Paying gold for a service however is a very normal thing,
The only boosting i rly disagree with is pvp boosting howeverz due to it impacts players a whole lot more, pve boosts i dont rly care about
My beef so to speak is with how WoW seems to almost be designed to encourage boosting starting with MoP
Well, WoW was, is and always will be an addiction not a hobby , or not just a hobby
And like with every addiction, you want the good stuff
Not necessarily Blizzard’s fault, but I’m sure they kept this lil’ but important fact in mind
Do we get any protection from blizzard if we get scammed?
Otherwise it’s just a platform for scammers.
I mean if proven you get scammed they should get ip banned and you get ur gold black, that would make it an actual good service trade.
But before MoP the game had almost no regular content that was gone after the content patch/expansion ended.
People could wait it out and get it after 1-2 ore more expansions
seasons, and limited time mount rewards however arent designed for boosting. they’re designed for the games targetted audience.
to generate, mounts and unique time rewards for people who completed the achievements while their active. however, every system will bring some bad with it, this made boosting more openly aknowledged. its always existed, its just boosters have run and jumped with the idea and now openly advertise their market.
It brought easily more bad than good.
well considering M+ Was already booming with popularity long before the mounts introduction… i guess there is a agreement with that. it wasnt rly nessercary.
Finally there is a chance Trade will be a barrens chat again. Nice!
I also said my friend carried me through Torghast a few days ago, I would never use the word boosted. I think most people subconsciously feel the difference. That feeling might be of course helped by boosters calling their transactions boosting nowadays. Language always evolves. Boost and carry are not synonyms in any dictionary either though. Common goal is their denominator in the game.
Also, we’ve got games like MOBAs nowadays and everyone got used to the word ‘carry’ meaning someone stronger is helping the team achieve something. I think ‘carry’ was used in WoW for boosting before these more modern games emerged.
PS: Just randomly googled it and this came up: “Carry is the one who is keeping you and your team in the game, in terms of winning. Boosting means someone premades with you to win for you to rank you up.” Granted it’s the CS community talking about their game but it supports the notion people see these two as separate things no matter what they precisely mean in their game of choice.
To be honest, I rather see a boosting add on Trade then jokes, thunderurry chain, yo mama jokes, casual racsim, politics, relegious debates and so on ,everyhing that is NOT Trade… boosting is at leats Trade-stuff
