Blizzard give us a new ranged class, pretty please (Dark Rangers preferably)

So much agree and it must be the first mail wearing tank to even up on armour type’s .

That is completely fine, you don’t have to share an my opinion.

What I meant by this is that my original post states

The main point I was making is that we need a new class that focuses on ranged weapons and Dark Rangers were only my solution to the problem. You along with a couple of other people ignore that point completely and just name your reasons why you believe Dark Rangers would be a bad class without counter arguments to the things I stated and suggested other than “it’s a niche” or other explanations to why you feel that way. That is the definition of pushing a narrative.

And as for this:

Again you seem to ignore half of the things I have said on the post. So I will repeat it again. Dark Rangers don’t have to be the solution to the problem that we lack ranged weapon classes. They are the choice I would make because they fit the description and actually have long seeded lore in the game as well as well as would answer the question to what happened to them after the events we witnessed unfold in the game.

Never meant to insult you, sorry if I did. It just seems you are missing the points that I was making on purpose.

And I agree. I just don’t agree that Dark Rangers are a good choice.
I think Tinker is a much better fit.

But, on another note… Consider this:

What if Blizzard just doesn’t add any new classes.
What if instead Blizzard adds ‘prestige specs’ to classes.
How you would unlock such a ‘prestige spec’ would be up to the devs, but it could be many different things. Special questlines, achievements, a difficult personal challenge, etc.

When you unlock such a ‘prestige spec’ you not only unlock the spec, but also a set of unique transmog and some special customization feature.

Such specs could include:

Dark Ranger - Hunter spec.
Unlocks a Dark Ranger outfit and the ‘red eyes’ customization.

Some more examples:

Far Seer - Shaman spec.
Priestess of the Moon - Priest spec
Alternatively: Spirit Walker - Priest spec
Berserker - Warrior spec
Blood Mage - Mage spec
Warden - Paladin spec
Shadow Hunter - Rogue spec
Blademaster - Monk spec
Witch Doctor - Warlock spec
Spirit Walker - Demon hunter spec
Alternatively: Spellbreaker - Demon hunter spec
Necromancer - Death Knight
Keeper of the Grove - Druid spec (or maybe just forego a druid spec since they have 4)

These are all based on RTS units/heroes.

Personally I would prefer to have dual wielding pistols for hunters…

I would so love to be standing there giving it Mr White to meanies.

I’d love a ranged blood magic class… I really enjoy the animation of Impending Catastrophe!

That sound really cool

That is a completely understandable opinion. I know a lot of people feel like a tinker class would be great and I hope it will be added to the game in the future when it will fit the expansions theme.

That is something I’ve thought about as well. I think that would be awesome, I don’t see how any players wouldn’t love something like that to be implemented into the game. If you know a WOW youtuber by the name of Taliesin made a very similar point a while ago. Literally some exact ideas that you gave. To my knowledge he has some connections to blizzard so there is a real chance that something like this would be added.

Which is a legit request, imho.

If only there was some sort of profession in game that produced items that could change the visuals of your skills and spells.

Imagine if that existed. And was kept up to date with expansions to account for new buttons and NPCs.

Wasn’t that the whole point of glyphs?

Here’s a lovely suggestion incorporating 3 specs of different theme each into 1 Ranger Class!

Ranger-General Spec: A spec with Light-Infused bow attacks, representing the energy of the Sunwell.

Dark Ranger Spec: Shadow style Bow attacks, Shadow-Infused, akin to many of Sylvanas’s abilities inspired by the battle against her in CoD and HoTS.

Void elf Spec - Survival style Void Themed spec, spawning voidy defiles under enemies, sneaking behind enemies and slicing / stabbing akin to a rogue’s sneak attack. Can ALTERNATE between Bows/ crossbows and melee weapons.

dark rangers are just edgy hunters.
if they just gave us class/race customizations/glyphs, any elf could choose to be edgy and go dark ranger, no need for a new class and multiple specs for such a specific fantasy that is just a flavour of an existing one.

speaking of new classes i’d rather see tinkers: use ranged/melee weapons depending on spec, mail armor, and there’s a good range of untapped abilities they could have.

This is just MM with light and it would not fit with most races. So do you want to make the whole class just a couple of races?

You mean old ranged survival.

Also fyi she has had those abilities from WC3

And here we just have old ranged survival with a bit extra flash with void.
I wonder if people forget that hunters used to have full on melee weapons on top of the bow in the past.

It is good ideas but most of them can be implemented quite easily into the already existing hunter class.

This fits quite well with just a modefied old ranged survival spec for hunter it is not the same as old survival but it sure would feel similar.

You quoted a statement I made but didn’t address the statements that followed it

Having a ranged weapon doesn’t mean you have to be a hunter

Because the follow up is irrelevant to what you said before because survival hunter was getting dang close to a dark ranger type, with shadow magic dots and even raising skeleton hounds with black arrow.
And melee weapons was still a part of the toolkit before ranged survival stopped existing.

Il ask you this what makes dark ranger different from the hunter specs?
Because what i see is old survival but leaning more into shadow magic.

All classes in wow have background , only if sylvnas redemption is to fight against the jailer and start training dark rangers

So old SV hunter had 1 spell that could fit the Dark Ranger class. Both the spec and the spell were removed from the game so they don’t exists anymore.

So how is this point irrelevant you are basing the comparison of a spec and spell that doesn’t exists in the game. Even if the spec still existed it would support my argument because survival always focused on poisons and traps and you only compared it because of the weapon combinations the class used which my argument denied.

It doesn’t mean much. Warlocks at one stage also had Metamorphosis.

Don’t even understand why did they take it away from them, it was so cool to see a demon tank the flying Illidan!

On the other hand it’s not that it doesn’t matter, but as others said: it’s not a lot to do to make them a separate class, it’s more like a venthyr hunter  looks cool and goth and edgy but that’s all
