We need some class mechanics to be triggered automatically to make it more effective during M+ and Raiding. Right now, the class has AoE limit problems and too many skills to use that originate to many global Cooldowns.
Also, the way the talents are, we need a relocation or merge some together.
The current shaman talents also allow the possibility for a 2handed weapon use. Frost Death Knight asked the same and it works perfectly, and Shaman would work too.

. Elemental Weapons Talent effect change to - Your Flame Tongue and Wind Fury imbue effects on 1handed weapons effect are Double and increase your Frost Fire and Nature damage by 5%
Your Flame Tongue imbue weapon effect on 2handed weapons is double
Your Wind Fury weapon imbue effect on 2handed weapon has 40% chance to occur

I think its not a matter of suggestions. I am reading/writing to this forum for years and it seems noone is listening the shaman community. Just tuning the numbers to be competitive and shut our mouths

But they could introduce a Dathea style Ascendance.
Burrow should be baseline.
Adding an immunity only makes the game more lethal. Cause they want to challenge the players and that is by using defensives currently.
I think Shaman just needs more passive tankiness.

10% more health would solve a lot of problems.
Another defensive problem i have: Spirit wolf.
Why does it need to be 4 seconds charge time while bear form is instant.

I do think that DRE should be changed to proc based on maelstrom weapon stacks spent rather than pressing a singular button.

But i think that Ascendance should be redisigned to fit the narritive of both Elementalist and Storm for enhancement and Lightning and fire for Elemental shaman.
Just empower the spenders of Lightning bolt and Chain lightning for Enhancement
and empower Earth shock/Elemental Blast and Earthquake for Elemental.
The hailstorm change that you are asking for doesnt really matter.
If you have 5 or more stacks you can hit 7 targets if i recall correctly.
I think they should look at the power of Fire nova in lower target counts/Single target, so it becomes a genuine option.
Can even introduce a fire nova empowerment button that is a choice node with Ice Strike.
A lot of the topend of enhancement could and should be baseline.
Like picking Improved Maelstrom weapon, Raging Maelstrom. Windfury weapon, Windfury totem, Molten Assault, Overflowing maelstrom.

2-handed Enhancement is a sin to want back and its a relic of its time.
It was never good. It was never fun.
The only interesting thing was the mega highroll potential on AUTO ATTACKS.

Yes it would, specially who the current talents tbh. The attack speed we have, storm strike CD resets, it would work. Just like Wind Walker Monk or Frost DK. Still, it would be Talent
optional, you can keep your dual wield play style it’s fine.
We only have 1 defensive ability, tha to reduces the DMG +% . Meanwhile, every other class has a the same or better, and a shield/absorber.
If you think this would make us Over Power, then why everyone, besides us, has both skills alternatives?

Pulls on M+ with 9-13 targets, our AoE limited on 5. Again, other classes got " DMG reduced over 5 targets" but they can contribute on the DMG and have their field for the DPS when they jump to that new targets. In the other hand, Shamans have to start the rotation field all over again.
It’s just a request to make us more useful on bigger pulls.
We are behind in every single aspect.
But this is my personal statement. I can obviously be wrong. When I log to my other characters, everything is much more fluid and simple. Shaman is a complete mess.
first of all they should go back to the 5 msw spender design.
we had 5 msw max stack before, then we complained that we sometimes overcapped so they introduced a cap only to introduce a talent that now let you spend 10 stacks and make it mandatory. then you are like: ???
ice strike is still a button that is absolutely unnecessary. you can just bake its power into hailstorm directly which would give enhance also the skillpoint that it is missing currently.
that is the whole problem with elementalist. Elementalist resulted from hailstorm design issues.
Originally enhance aoe was designed around crash lightning and melee cleaves that it causes, which in fact it way more suitable for a melee spec.
Now obviously the problem is that stormstrike does minuscule dmg because of the reset ungabunga
enhance is currently very flawed from it design.
You could make it more playable with band aid fixes but well…
addressing aoe could simply be band aided with uncapped flame shock which is also uncapped spread by lava lash. Also make lava lash apply lashing flames to stop the stupid tab target fiesta.
hailstorm, like you said could just deal reduced dmg beyond 5 targets.
That would fix already a lot of enhance and would remove some of the unnecessary complexity of the spec that is not needed in content that requires 110% of your attention if you don’t want to drop dead on the floor.
shaman has that talent already and you see it basically doesn’t to crap.
Why is wl so tanky? Because of soul leech and also soul link.
Has little to do with the high health pool. Yes it helps, but dmg reductions, absorbs etc. will increase your effective health by a lot.
Warlocks passive effective health pool is probably around 1.7-1.8k while shamans have 1.4k tops with the same stamina talent.
fun fact:
in DF: beta the talent that now reduces magic dmg by 4% was before a talent that reduced all dmg by 4 or 6%
give us stone claw totem back that copies mass barrier from mages and suddenly shaman will be very solid for high keys, if our dmg was tuned correctly as well.
Yes to all of the above. I mean honestly i’d be happy for all ice gimmics to dissapear. Water spells as healing is good enough and they just add bloats. Eathnind already slows wjy do we also need frost shock and then why does frost shock also need to be buffed by icestrike. That said replacing frost shock woth ice strike on taking the talent would be ok
