Blizzard has started adding 6 month subscription deals to Classic TBC

Guys don’t bother trying to reason with him. his mind is made up, and no amount of reasoned argument will shift his mind. You can tell him until you are literally blue in the face that there is NO extra cost for the toy but he simply won’t believe you, because of Blizzard = bad.

But I do find it amusing he and ishayo just HAD to drag politics into it.

It still required you to pay a service upfront to unlock it. It’s not free.

??? My point is that it is not free. Can you get the toy for free without buying a 6 month subscription?

And they are, just look in this thread.

There is. It’s a 6 month deal you need to buy.

A company offering a freebie to some loyal customers or whatever? … you do realize its not just Blizzard who does that right?

Anyways. As Soul already said. I will have better luck explaining that the Earth is round to a zelous flath-earther. So continue to preach your “Blizzard is evil. Blizzard is bad” lecture on your carboard box…

Ok last try then i will give up.
I play wow for 6 months it costs me £9.99 per month and i dont get any additional items other than server access. This costs me £59.94
Another player plays for 6 months and buys his game time in 6 month subscriptions at a time this costs him £52.14.
Both players have been playing for 5 years and have had continuous subs.
How much extra does the toy cost the player that buys a 6 month sub?

Well the 6 month costs are actually cheaper in the long run than 1 month costs and you even get a toy with it.

But this is already grade 3 advanced maths. Our poor Asjon is not even passed 1st grade maths so. I doubt he will get it…

It’s not a freebie.
It still required you to buy 6 months of gametime.

And we have concluded here already you paid money for it. So hence, the toy is not free.

It is if you would buy the sub regardless if there was a toy in or not.

And whats the point of the toy if you won’t even get to use it in the first place since you need a sub to log in
Right now we are arguing if an airline A who sells a ticket for 250 eur who has free meal included vs airline B who sells a ticket for 300 eur and they sell the meal extra on-board.

The meal IS free on airline A if we compare the costs but all that is meaningless if you are not even sitting on the plane to begin with.

1 + 1 = 2 that’s 3 quick maths.
But anyway, since you want to try and come off as smart, since clearly you are oh so not falling for basic marketing strategies, I ask of you wether or not you are using up all you game time completely.

Based off your achievements ingame, we can already conclude you are not.

But let’s say, you miss out a day of playtime each week. That’s 4 days missed over a month. That is 24 days missed over 6 months. That is nearly a full month of gametime wasted.

If you truly are using up your gametime. Great, but in practise, I believe not.

Just missing a few days of game time each month can result in a loss of gametime in total spread over 6 months.

And you better do not get bored and take a break.

I use the product as I see fit? Blizzard only sells me “access” to their servers. How I use this access is my own decision. Either I play 24/7 or log in once a month is my decision.

A hotdog vendor will sell you a hotdog…but what you do with it is your own decision.
Go ahead try eating only like half of it then running back to the vendor and demanding that you get 50% refunded? No really, try it in real life. Might be even a good youtube hit about some clown

The toy is free.

Whether there was a toy/mount/whatever involved or not a 6 month sub is still £52.14 (or whatever it is).

your ‘its not free’ argument would only work if the package was 5 months gametime + toy for £52.14. or if you had to pay an extra £10 on top to get the toy as well as the sub time.

Currently you are paying no extra for the toy/mount/whatever. therefore it is a FREE bonus for purchasing the package. The fact its ties to a subscription package is irrelevant, people are getting it for no extra cost if they already bought or continue to buy the 6 month sub package.

Wrong. You can access the servers for free up to level 20.

It is not for free. Else everyone would get it for free in their bags.
You are required to pay for a service to unlock it, so it is not free.

With a very limited functionality…aha sure.

Right now you are simply desperately trying to save face and are nitpicking…

They seem really confident in the success of TBC…

Saving face? I said the pet requires a service to unlock which you pay money for. It’s not free.

And you keep forgetting that you are also receiving the service you bought as well.
If you were planning to sub for 6 months anyway. You get the main product you PAID for…which is the 6 month sub and the pet comes along as a free bonus.

But you pay that money anyway :man_shrugging:

It’s probably fair to say they are adding the freebies to encourage more people to purchase 6 months subs instead of single purchase game time or 1 month subs but you can’t also deny that by buying 6 months blocks you save money in the long run if you know you are going to play over that time and you also get a shiny for free thrown in so it’s shady but not that shady.

At the end of the day blizzard actually lose out on 2 months of subs a year for each person who switches to the 6 months offers whatever you think about them.

If yeah

So am I wrong the pet does not come for free but as a bonus for a service that costs money?

No I am not.

Oh nice, more freebies!

I’m not sure it will work as well for the TBC model. It’s not like we have collections sections etc. It’s just old fashioned takes up space

As a free bonus yes. They paid just for the service alone. They didn’t pay any cent extra for the pet.

Not free.

It’s a bonus, but it’s not free lol.
