Blizzard help please comment on Dragonflight Legacy Content

Hi Blizzard

Myself and my partner do not raid due to time constraints from disabled family members and so we have always played legacy raids and been very happy with the enjoyment of being able to solo/duo old content.
We had always just waited for the new expansion to be able to play the previous expansion raid content.

We were looking forward to BfA when Shadowlands dropped, but because the legacy system was changed at that point, we (and many in the community) found we could not solo BfA legacy content and Blizzard did officially say this was how the new system was designed.
So we accepted that and spent another 2 years with Legion legacy content.
Recently, we have been getting excited that when Dragonflight drops, we will finally be able to enjoy the BfA legacy content, great.

But…

Today as the Dragonflight pre-patch has launched, we have found that the BfA mobs that were level 50 yesterday, are level 60 today. Raising the mobs by the same amount as our toons will be raising looks really worrying.
So if the BfA mobs are being raised by 10 levels just as our characters are able to increase by the same 10 levels, this looks like BfA legacy content will still be potentially unavailable to us as it will only be 10 levels behind us and thus not solo-able with current characters, despite being 4-year old content.

So my main question, will there be some form of legacy-buff applied to BfA content that will make it available to us? Or despite waiting an extra 2 years will it still be out of reach due to the mobs all being raised by the same amount as our toons just as the expansion is released?

Please this is really important to us as a lot of our time and thus sub is spent in legacy content so its a main reason for us paying to play and if thats not going to be feasible then we do need to rethink.

I do hope you can give some reassurance that the very-old BfA legacy content will all be quite simple to new Dragonflight toons please. Or if not, if it is being raised to maintain its current level of accessibility within the new exp, then do also tell us as we do need to know.

I will echo this as well, as the wife in question.
I don’t understand your reasoning for this at all, this content in two weeks is four years old near abouts.

I have always praised this game for allowing all their player base to access all their content, to champion and advocate many different styles of play. I know I may not be able to get some mounts, some mog’s if they are specifically for achieving in a allotted time frame, but that hasn’t been an issue because, if I wait a couple of years, I will be able to see it or try for the mog’s as my character gains strength.

Then I can go back, and basically kick the snot out of enemies that were difficult before, because hey, I am so much tougher now, and well, due to progress these guys just aren’t as strong as me now.

Means I genuinely get to see everything in game, and my toon always feels like it’s growing, developing, getting more powerful within it’s world.

Now, content from the previous expansion is the same level, which means since BFA, what my character hasn’t actually developed, gained strength, power or progressed in any way.

Really?, how does that happen!!
Not to mention that this again deprives a sizeable amount of legacy content…
Please, reconsider, or at least make it optional to sale as such. Guild Wars 2 does this, and the downside to that is you never feel relevant…

because no matter how much you do in game, the starting area scales to your level so those beasts you were training on, well they are just as tough despite your journey. Which actually begs the question, what is the point…

Just to add,

I understand that when we level up within Dragonflight, that Shadowlands legacy will still be in-accessible to us, we accept that as its only the very previous expansion. But surely surely when we are Lvl70 in Dragonflight we will finally be able to tackle anything at all in BfA, its not just the previous exp, its the one before that.

Please please, legacy content really needs to be acessible to the players who are never “current” but enjoy the game that way.

I am just hoping you can reply with some form of “Yes, while Shadowlands raids will remain difficult as legacy, BfA raids will have a legacy buff and Lvl70 toons will indeed be able to solo them”

Really is important to us. We were dissapointed when Shadowlands dropped and we couldnt have the BfA content we expected, but we consoled ourselves that with the next exp (Dragonflight) we would get the BfA stff then, but at the moment it looks like after all that waiting it will be denied us, which would be very upsetting. Hoping you can reassure us please.

I simply dont understand why they’re being this stingy with legacy raids scaling for content from 3 expansion ago. It’s absolutely ludicrous that were still here reporting on Legion raids scaling, content that’s almost from 7 years ago.

Apparently only normal dungeons will scale to level 60, raids all levels, and dungeons of normal or higher will still be level 50.

The reasoning seems to be that at present people still are asked to level through BFA, the only reason I can see for this change is to avoid SL altogether in your levelling journey, but unless it’s bugged someone of the US servers has already said the rewards are lower in BFA despite the scaling rise???

So at least good news for us, the legacy content is still a viable choice for us in the future, however best waiting a couple of weeks to do any content in BFA open world till we are a bit stronger as it’s honestly a right pain in the keister…

Hello everyone

Please let us be loud about that. Anyone who is interested in this must send in ingame report.

It is unacceptable that we don’t have any legacy buff active for level 61+ in BFA content. Even the legion legacy buff is not working properly. Just tested Gul’dan mythic on a level 70 and I did not feel any important difference to when I was endgear 60. Gul’dan mythic should be literally dead by just watching him now…
Such a shame and really frustating. So please everybody, be active about this demand and don’t stop. If we want a change, we have to stand up.
