Blizzard is dumb with Tank Dracthyr Evoker

I know this has been adressed and all but I truly think they are missing a big opportunity by not adding a tanking spec to Dracthyr.

Just think about it man, a Dracthyr Evoker tank that can either fight with a shield and sword/mace/axe or with a two handed weapon depending on talent selection, using primarily the magic of the black dragonflight (the magic that’s the least prevalent on all of Evoker) to harden themselves with their earth magic empowered draconic scales, and deliver threatening blows charged with the magic of the black dragonflight, earthquakes, magma eruptions, BIG stone projectiles, sandstorms to conceal their allies fighting at range, CC based on ground and soil manipulation (maybe creating quicksands to root enemies or stunning them on stone cages), etc…

And a tank spec for Dracthyr Evokers would mean that to play as a melee Dracthyr Evoker you would have to be tank, which could encourage more people to play the role BECAUSE IT WOULD BE SO DAMN COOL!

I think they are really missing a big opportunity to add something super ultra amazing.

But what can I do except dream about it…

When I first saw them announcing Evoker I thought they would be able to be dps, healer and tank. I guess they went with more of a mage aproach than like a strong fihting dragon. Thought they could still add a tanking spec, Like a mage defending with magic.

Yes, exactly that.

But it would be nice to have more physical abilities too apart from the magic.

Tank Evoker would feel way too similar to Demon Hunters given their mobility or DHs ability to harden/alter their body as well.

Its called a potential reason. Why “waste” resources to create something thats essentially already in the game is no doubt in their head as a reason why you wont get tank evokers.

Also let me return your phrase. Youre sad that there arent tank evokers? So what.

It’s not one is a demon the other is a Warcraft dragon.

And thats where the difference would already end. As i said a Tank Evoker would be way too similar to a Demon Hunter Tank given boths classes mobility and design of altering their skin/size through magic.

You may get a tank evoker further down the line but i wouldnt count on it and just abandon the thought. Also this game doesnt really need yet another tank. Just like it didnt need another melee.

No they arent. The only thing they have in common is that they both use a shield. Their gameplay is different as is their design.

It very much is. What you deem cool can easily be considered trash by others or vise versa.

Then it’s a you problem regarding imagination or actual knowledge on how to design classes.
