Blizzard killing Timewalking gear sets/ twinks is something I didn't have on my TWW bingo card

like… look, Timewalking is almost irrelevant but what it was?

  • revisit old content and if you wanna have fun you can use all fun items with fun effects “blasting” and basically enjoying your use of old legendaries or “really rare items”.

it didn’t hurt anyone really and if you had “tw twink” in group - the run was just faster.

What is blizzard doing now? According to PTR notes - instead of scaling lvl/ilvl down to specific levels… they will scale mobs according to your level and… players from level 10 will be able to queue.

This will have two obvious effects

  1. all old gear.legendaries/fun trinkets / tier sets and azerite - won’t be useful in any scenario whatsoever
  2. instead of twinking current chars, people will “farm” TW with… well, you know - level 10 lock xp chars or 20 lvl max free-to-play 2nd accounts doing disgusting poorly scaled damage - the way it happened in MoP remix and what happens EVERY SEASONAL BOSS EVENT - when like 10 lvl resto shaman 3-shots a boss.

so the scaling shenanigans will be here but the “fun” part is gonna be removed.
Heck, well, maybe twinking lvls 10s will be a thing?

either way - fun detected - hard tuning blah blah blah.

Disappointed - such an irrelevant, occasional activity and obviously needs to be rehashed again with no good result.

I guarantee you that your max level chars will be just bad in this - like it was at start of TWW - with 71s lvls doing more dps than 79 in scaled dungeons.

I’d love they abandoned the idea but I’m sure they already spaghettised the code and won’t untangle it… XD

Tanks are getting 2 shots by critters in TW.
Perfectly balanced.

Nobody is going to queue up if its slow, for 1piece of champion gear, and low ilevel gear loot, consider HC and even Normal dung, drops better items, people who spam, either levlers, or mount farm, or the people wanting their chance of bis trinket from NM, or something else. (Speaking of the quest giving u a NM piece ofc)

Yes, because Blizzard didn’t do their “tuning” for TWW changes:

The TBC event capping at ilvl 75 effectively means that while players and mobs are scaled to level 30, your gear is scaled to level 19.

level 80’s are OP in time walking.

Whenever i went in as level 80 dps i did far and above more dmg than the rest of the party, tho i have not tried as a level 10.

Why exactly do twinks need to exist? Surely it’s a form of gaining an unfair advantage, to use scaling weirdness to achieve a goal.

What’s with your IQ and reading comprejhension?
no one said they need to exist - it was a fun way to use your old expac gear - that’s all.
the only raid once a month you could use shadowmourne for instance.

unfair advantage? what kind of unfair advantage? Anyone in any TW group enjoyed being carried by a “tw twink” - people join tw raids/dungeons to complete fast for fast gear/badges - it was just for everyone’s advantage and more importantly - anyone can quickly get a TW gear by running 2-4 solo legacy raids lol.

now you will be in pains doing TW hoping u get lvl 10 poorly scaled booster LOL

Never really cared when they do, I know how to adapt.

I don’t know what ppl you team with but the 10 ones I did was tank pulled entire dungeon mobs die is seconds…

Also this will kill the remnants of “past expac crafting niche”

like - blood garnet JC, certain old leggos (like shoulder/waist with 3 sockets), SL rings etc etc…

TW was also the only reason to ever use old sharpening stones or old flasks/pots… :confused:

This actually opens the door for low level twinks rather than close it. We’re gonna have people AFK boosting their characters with level 20 trials again just like in Pandaria remix.

Yeah I had a rough time understanding that (vs. previous TW raid during DF for example) they slap, HARD.
