BLIZZARD Let me enter raids without having to be in a raid group

Let me enter raids without having to be in a raid group, Simple as that.

With WotLK it’s now very possible to farm a few raid instances solo, Except They still require being in a raid group. Wasting my time getting in a group with one of my alt-characters since I don’t have a second account.

Just invite your alt.

Or just ask in chat for a sleeping partner. I have been one time and again for people to raid. If you’re far away you don’t get any loot from the raid, and it does not disturb my fishing

Raids aren’t intended to be solo’d even if you can. Wasting your time? Getting a raid set up with some randomer is easy. I sense hyperbole.

There is a trick.

  • invite a random person who is presumably AFK (use /who Orgrimmar/Stormwind for example)
  • during the invitation period simply run into the raid
  • even if person declines or invitation declines itself after some time after you are in the raid instance you will stay in the instance and won’t get kicked

How can you invite your alt on the same account lol.

/run InviteUnit(“a”); C_Timer.After(1,function() ConvertToRaid() end)

Wait for the raid conversion to happen, walk into raid. If you walk in too early or too late it won’t work.

Or blizzard can just let us zone in

What a dumb response, I have fun soloing content and sometimes I do it for things like mounts; Not to waste my time even more looking for people.

Just ask in chat for somebody to invite you to a group - I’m always happy to help folk with that if I’m questing or farming - they don’t have to be with you - just form a party and convert it to raid

Dumb response? He just tried to help you and explained you why it’s not soloable no need to insult his answer.

Yeah seems like these days its too hard for people to ask things like “heya can you please be my silent partner, just so i can enter this raid, you can disband after”.

I think it goes without saying - a player shouts out if someone can invite them to a group you know what they need and if you are just chilling out you throw them an invite - it’s a social thing to do

I solo ZG twice a week using the above macro to walk in alone, the macro has been around for a long time and Blizzard hasn’t disabled it so while it would be better if they just let people walk in alone by default, you can already do it without inviting anyone.

Inviting someone, walking into the raid and then disbanding it will just boot you out of the raid, the macro won’t.

With a little talent.
You log on an alt, alt+f4 (your char will still be online for about 1 min). Log to your main and invite your alt, convert to raid and enjoy. The invite will be declined and the group disbanded but you got inside. The only problem is if you die., where you have to repeat before trying to enter.

Or the safer old route, ask a guildie to invite 2 of your chars to a party and leave (takes 30 sec)

You’re really here posting a thread complaining about having to be in a raid to enter a raid, and me saying raids aren’t intended to be solo’d and how easy it is getting a raid set up is dumb?

Or you could just create a raid group like every one else does. By the time it took you to even type one paragraph a raid could be created. Really really do get the silliest posts on these feedback forums sometimes.

Or Blizzard can just remove this useless restriction.

Removing it would encourage people to solo raids, so I doubt they’ll do it. Either way there’s a reason for it, and I doubt it’ll change.

???
What negatives does soloing old raids have that you think “encouraging it” is bad?

They prevented/dissuaded players grinding certain 5-man dungeons. I’m not going to list the reasons why, as it’s pointless to do so, as well as the fact the thread feels like another “Why not?” instead of “Why do?”.

So you’re just against the topic of the thread just because. good to know.
