I was hoping the devs would care about BG’s in the Phase 4 and was really happy they didn’t release Alterac Valley in Phase 3 hinting they are planning to do something about it. No news being announced about it is a bit disappointing. If nothing will be changed it will be like the Ashenvale event. The Ashenvale “PVP” event as it currently stands is just rushing lieutenants to kill the general. Even though there are incentives to defend your general people generally do not do it. Please Blizzard, do something about the BG before it becomes a race to dps the enemy general as it was in Season of Mastery.

It will be even worse with the power creep from runes and gear.
There are many ways they could address it but they probably did nothing.
Even things as simple as reducing the number of players to 20 on each side.
Or buffing all npcs, including simple ones which could all become elite
Or make bosses invulnerable until the captain is dead and then have them start with a buff that progressively diminishes as time passes or lieutenants are killed

Yeah agreed. The 40v40 tug of war battles in bottlenecks is why AV is sometimes so fun (as long as it doesn’t last forever). Having a BG with objectives but also a place to steam off is great. The only problem is the 10 minute games for fast honor. It just sucks. I think AV should last from 30 minutes to maximal up to an hour and also reward people for trying to comeback.
Honestly I am fine with anything, I just don’t want AV to be a zerg rush.
In 2019 people were crying that the Horde have soe advantages in AV like a spawn location or more bottelnecks locations.
Are they true? Was that what cused the horde to win so many AV?

if some horde here can give a feedback on how it was to play against russian’s alliance it could be interesting
because alliance had no chance against russian’s horde
Here’s the QRD on the evolution of AV games in classic vanilla:
*On release Alliance win the vast majority of games, at this point both sides are strictly boss rushing, no PVP at all.
*Horde gets sick of losing and begin intercepting the Alliance raid in the middle of the map, typically cutting off and killing half. Those Alliance not cut off in the front will ride down to the Horde base and complain until the game is over.
*Horde now wins the majority of games using this strategy.
*Alliance never does anything to counter this Horde strat, no changes in the overall Alliance strategy happen from the release of AV until the end of classic vanilla.

Actually good observation, it was always the same. The only ones being able to pull boss rush off will be bg premades.
The reason people Boss rush in AV and Ashenvale is that there is no reward for successfully defending anything in this game.
People would actually start defending, if there was a proper reward for doing so. It has to be an immediate reward, too - something along the line of “defended X objective, get immediate honor+rep” because otherwise most players won’t care.
Fair enough. I wouldn’t want to see that either. It was just an example of a simple thing to do.
But even that would be better than doing nothing at this point cause a 20 man group is sod should be close to a 40man in vanilla in firepower

Would be funny to see 40 shamans chain lighting allince mid field in AV and wipe them in seconds.

Regular AV is the only BG that doesn’t make me puke. I hope they do not turn it into a pointless imbalanced PvP bloodbath like the current AB and WSG
and they gonna have wolves 40shamans + 80 wolves

Blizz is so out of touch with their own game. All Elemental Shamans needed was
- Itemization
- dps than burst
I might join in the fun if it releases like this, I always wanted to play a Shaman but didn’t like Horde cities/spawns.

How can you premaid AV? It think blizz removed the option to see BG number long time ago.
I just imagine a premade with 20+ shaman deleting all alliance with a syncro chain lightning at the first confrontation and then farming at GY for the rest of AV. Rofl
