Blizzard please don't increase MMR

Remember the old saying which applies to the wow playerbase: “You think you do, but you don’t.”

Many complainers on the forum are telling you right now that they want even more MMR inflation, and I fear that you’re going to cave in to their demands like you always do. What will actually happen if you inflate MMR even more is players will get their 1800 mog in the first week and then quit for the rest of the season.

It would also distort people’s perception of their true skill level which is bad for the competitive nature of the game. Not everyone deserves to be an elite gamer, just like not everyone in real life deserves to enter the Olympics.

True.
The game is supposed to function so the player get rewards gradually throughout the season while keeping the players for the entire season; making the season active.

PvP will be a ghost town if they increase mmr. Everyone will be able to get rewards all the way to 2.1k then quit rest of season.

Not to mention the artificial inflation produces the same thing in the end - it will still be easier to gain rating later in the season.

Watching threads on both US and EU forums last two weeks, Ive came to the conclusion people would rather boicot arena unless they are given free MMR and CR lmao…

I respect your opinion in the matter, but I’d have to disagree, comparing 1800 to the Olympics is a bit of an overstatement. No one is getting a medal let alone a gladiator mount.

What isn’t fun is competing against olympic gold medalists in a bracket full of amateurs. Most people would agree that leaving this issue would do more harm than good.

I believe that changes should be made, everyone wants to see improvements and it’s motivating when you do manage to push and see gains. As well as this it should encourage more people to play as a result, which is what we all want (faster Que times, etc)

What I don’t have is the answers to how that happens, but some changes need to be made for the betterment of the game.

He compared elite with olympics.

Most players are not supposed to hit 1.8k first month. You guys just need to be patient and wait. Mmr will sort itself out automatically later in the season, and eventually people will get their rewards.

In general:
Since solo is inflated multiple times over compared to normal arena; All blizzard needs to do is to bring down MMR in the PvE mode to keep it in line with 2s and 3s.

I think I have explained everything in great detail to WoW readers how game works.

And crybabies keep crying.

Come on, belittling people to crying babies isn’t going to do anything, but show how if people don’t agree with your opinion; you just throw your toys out of the pram :joy:.

I’m not bothered if I don’t get 1800 in the first season, I’m a casual but you must be in your own world to believe that only the elite should be 1800 in the first month of a MMO. Everyone wants this game to do well and thrive,

That’s the main issue here, people want everything fast. But it shouldn’t be like that. It is a Player problem mit a game problem.

WoW pvp community: PLAY META, PLAY META, make it harder for everyone else, fill the ladder with meta specs that no one gets their goal.

This philosophy stands.

so true, the problem is at the end this game will be played only by a handful of pvp dogs confronting each other. In other words you want to keep your stupid superiority while the game is dying…

Why do you care what people think about their own skills?

imo i disagree with this way of thinking cause they end up quitting pvp if the rewards are too difficult to obtain, the rest will stay cause they like pvp but i wonder why is there inflation in the first place, they should put the ceiling at it’s maximum (what we currently have last week of the season) the very first day the season is released, i’ll never understand why a lot of pvpers like to be time gated, can you imagine this in pve ? for example m+ but with a 500% increased diffulty week 1 and it slowly gets easier over time ? that’s nonsense wow should stop finding excuses with people that find the current inflation interesting in any way and try working on a system like any other popular competitive game, imagine if league has this system, again it’s irrelevant, never has been never will be

1800 set in the first week and quit? Atleast you will not face blizo and whaaz anymore.

Gaining rating is always more fun then hardstuck forever when u face gladiators from s2 all the time.

World champion players are not even 2400 yet in 3vs3. And those guys are hard stuck at 2200-2300 is just rediculous. This change is really needed. Wat you are saying is prob solo shuffle.

I am playing arena season 3 2vs2 3vs3 and solo shuffle, from day one till now. I almost come to a point i wanna quit arena cause of the current mmr system. It does feel good to beat wcs players in 3vs3. But we are getting out skilled 90% of the time.

Its just not fun when u need to play ur absolute best at 1400-1500 rating against these pro players these days. When this should happen at 1900++ if u see their reactions and movements. Skill levels are out of balance atm with this current system.

Ur title triggers me for sure. Wat u been doing? Laying in bed for weeks? Read changes. Login and make this thread. There are dozens of threads people are mad when nothing is happening. I watch allot of streams checking whaaz cdew absterge venruki allot. And even they are laughing like wtf is this. They are 2100 rating getting wins and getting destroyed by other wcs players.

People just ignoring arena atm with this system. Venruki maked 3 a 4 videos bout this fiasco

I had the elite set in the first week.

I’m gathering the gladiator set now. I’ll quit pvp for the season when I’m done collecting it unless they fix holy priests and nerf resto druids even more.

If the only reason why people play arena is for the rewards and not for enjoyment. There is something seriously wrong.

PvP in WoW has only been worth doing for the rewards, mostly the mogs, for ages.

Blizzard can’t do PvP in any of their games, not even the games that are designed for PvP.

Nah. And for that matter, pvp rewards should be more accessible. Gladiator titles and gladiator mount rewards for so long was (and still is) out of reach for most players. This is not good. Any player playing enough should be able to get these rewards. That is the healthy way of gaming. Having your reward rely on other players already putting the grind to top effort levels where you’re bound to have the game be your job at the same time to succeed. Bs. Increasing MMR and CR gain decreases this effort significantly, however, which should bring these rewards closer and more in line with the reasonable effort put in.

On the other side, I feel the same about mythic raiding. Too exclusive. Most people do not have the skill set and/or do not interact with the game on a way where this difficulty of raiding is achievable. Thus pugging it is not at all possible and even guild progression often times cannot work. So there are rewards there inaccessible to most players. This shouldn’t be a thing.

I had the elite set on the first day. Had a day off when others had to work. Easy push but i knew wont last long. But i never ever touched 1900 again after. And dropped to 1700 even. But i am also talking about 3vs3. I have played enough to say its HELL. I am pushing my hpala now. The endless 3-3 continues

The problem with mythic raiding is that you have to play on a schedule. I don’t schedule the time I play games. I used to do that way back in wotlk/cata but I’m done with that since dragon soul, that was the last time I played following a schedule.

That argument is so short-sighted.

When they only play for the mog, they could also just come back in the last 2 weeks of a season and get it then a lot easier!

The reason why they need to massively buff inflation is simple. Nobody is having fun being hardstucked at like < 2100 cr in 3s. Some even go as far to say that low inflation is the reason for the terrible pvp participation. And it is true: There is currently simply NO reason to play pvp.
