Blizzard pls fix the economy by adding more gold sinks

Hello Blizzard,

You seemingly realized that there is way too much gold around in the game as you tried to nerf raw gold farms at the same time when the boosting XP nerf was implemented.

How about you do something else about it as well? Strat is still farmable and even if it wasn’t, the damage has been already done. The gold doesn’t suddenly disappear from the game, unless…

Some ideas for Brian:
-Increase repair costs by x% (nobody would even notice)
-Increase AH cut by x%
-Raise wotlk Mammoth price by 15k or more, or if you want, make it the longboi of Classic WoW which costs a fortune and not everyone has it (for example 100k or 200k price)
-Raise Kirin Tor ring prices
-Add a tri-spec option which costs 7500g or more

Feel free to share your ideas on how we can get people to spend those tens and hundreds of thousands of gold lying around in their pockets. Though in the end, Blizzard will do likely do nothing. But one can always try…

Just add tax for all characters for money they hold like 5% per week. Honest players will have none of tax taken, and could spend all they need before weekly reset, whil hoadarers, GDKP raid leads and botters would have to pay tax on gold stockpile they hold to.

A lot of those ideas that Brian suggested are awful, they will hurt a normal player like me who hates gdkps, never boosted and doesnt have 100k in his bags.Other than capping the amount of gold you can take from tbc to wrath per account i don’t see how blizzard can fix this without hurting a part of their player base.

Are You sure about it? Because considering all that Blizzard does, it seems to me that they have a problem with influx of illicit gold, not with the fact that people have large quantities of gold.

If You look at what Blizzard does, You’ll see that they severly hit bots (perma bans), and not gold buyers (they do ban them, but for shorter periods). They don’t track the gold, and not remove it form economy (sometimes they strip the buyers form items, but gold stays).

Mechanics they implemented make it more difficult to farm gold, while there was nothing done to remove any gold. A simple “gold squish” or lower gold cap would remove much gold form economy, but it is not being done.

I am only saying this because a solution needs to be tailored to fix the problem and I think that Your understanding of what the problem is differs from Blizzard’s point of view.

or… you know, ban people instead of making indirect, half-assed “solutions” which creates more problems than it fixes*

You have to pay income tax. Depending on your wealth it will rise up to 40%

ok can you give me some gold then? I have only 8k so far and have 3 characters, 1 at level 66 and 2 at level 60… those at level 60 does not even have ground mount… I am waiting pre-patch to buy it cheap… and I have to get 3 epic fly mounts + dual spec!

They could actually make the items I listed scale based on your wealth. For the poorer accounts item/repair/AH costs would not change at all, but the more gold you have on the server, the more you would need to pay.

Solution for this has been found above. Obviously any of these changes, scaling or not, will never happen, but that would be a way to do it without hurting the poor ones.

Why not wyping every gold over a certain threshold? It would not be well received, but the amount of dirty gold in circulation is far over anything that a goldsink would ever be able to manage.

Delete gold.
We need a new currency if it the current one is distributed poorly.

Lol, this sounds like taken from The Communist Manifesto

I am not sure that the negatives of this high inflation outweighs the negatives of your suggestions.

He was a smart man, indeed. But I am not sure if the idea of a new currency will be abused by evil powers.

Reward all wotlk quests with bitcoin and never use gold for something else but gdkp so gdkp users can enjoy their loved credit point system

Obsly ban all bgdkp (Bitcoin gdkp)

lol this thread is full of communists

I told you like 3 years before the announcment of Classic what would happen, and I was 100% correct on every point.

A ) Delete all gold from every single player at the start of all expansions.

B ) Add a per-account or server gold limit.

There’s absolutely no reason whatsoever to have more gold than 10k.

Go to your Thekal PvP or Gigantstalker PvE. No need for your communistic dreams here.

Hopefully they dont touch the player gold.

I farmed alot of gold, and i plan on spending it in wotlk.
