Name calling? Where?
I accept the situation is annoying
But we get these things every single major patch. All of them. And threads like this have never changed anything.
We all know that it’ll be sorted in a few days, and in 3 weeks we’ll have forgotten about it.
2 / 30 days = 0,06
multiply that by the cost of 1 month gametime 12,99€ you get what, less than 1€? you want 4/5ths of a euro reimbursement?
Covid, forrest burns, political chaos, company getting totally revamped, the most complicated game program attempting to become more complicated than it has ever done before.
Europe crew is being layed off? I don’t know what’s going on. I thought it was a miracle I got to play at all.
It’s weird that people look so surprised here.
it doesn’t matter if its a day or a year its still the same thing! it is not what the value of the subscription is, its the fact that under eu law paying subcribers to any type of paying service are NOT being provided a working service.
it might take them weeks to resolve this issue. you pay for a service, you get the service if you don’t they must refund you, regardless of the preamble crap that they call a terms is irrelevant and misleading because not all of it pertinent to europeans living in europe, the terms must be applicable to the eu, most of it isn’t, it’s disgraceful. another giant american company thinking it can do what the hell it wants in europe…pro tip, they can’t otherwise they dragged into court sued and told to close up, blizzard can be ordered to cease trading in europe if it breaks eu rules, eu terms, eu laws, individual country laws are irrelevant. it has done so, and has recently been reported to eu law makers in brussels.
They won’t.
This exactly.
Damn some people are acting like I asked for Blizzard to bend over backwards. It’s not like 99% of the people me included suffer greatly from this. Or that we are asking for our subs cancelled etc. But it would be a gesture of goodwill. If you went out to a restaurant and got a burnt steak would you not ask for another? You obviously wouldn’t throw a hissy fit or whatever. And if the restaurant didn’t bring you another you might visit again, but it most certainly would leave a bad taste and would show lack of customer service…
Edit: also since some people like throwing numbers around, because small numbers don’t matter for some reason but big numbers do, multiply those 0.40 cents by the amount of players and Blizzard is found owing a few thousand euros in paid services that haven’t been provided. Again personally it is not about the amount but more about principal, but if people want to play the number game sure.
Don’t understand what the fuss is 2 days outage and when I finally logged, what did I do? AFK in Orgrimmar.
So why moan about it? Are you so used to pampering that the slightest inconvenience bends your nose out of shape?
And the usual comparing a complex digital product with millions of lines of legacy code running over 3rd party infrastructure to a steak hue hue. Great example.
This is the nature of a multiplayer online game, yes it sucks but it happens. It’s not a product that comes off a conveyor belt or grill with a standard process. Adjust your expectations accordingly.
Your whining about this is so childish. We pay the sub price knowing very well that sometimes stuff like this happens, and it’s not like servers are not available for half or more the time. Prepatch and expansion launch was always and always will be like this, people storm the servers and there will be login issues in certain hours for a few days and then everything goes back to normal.
That’s completely different. If i go to a restaurant and i pay the price for a meal and they screw it up badly of course i’m going to. But only because i pay for one meal that i can only eat at that time. If you want to compare it to this situation then it would look like this: you pay for a whole month and you can go to the restaurant whenever you want and eat. Would you ask your money back if they would say one time that you can only eat stake from 3-6 instead of 0-24 because their stuff is broken? It would be just as stupid as asking for a few hours of bonus gametime just because something went wrong.
And then to think my billing history of my account is filled with:
1-day compensation from back in the Vanilla / TBC / WOTLK days. Because they had similar issues like this.
I dont even remember ever asking for those compensation days.
Yet we did get them.
Ever since the forum has become updated years ago, people are asking for days in return for every ‘‘patch that goes wrong’’.
And basically every major patch and xpac release has issues.
I just do other stuff during days like this, and thats about it.
One month i will play for lets say 40 hours, and another month for 32 hours, are you also gonna ask for compensation then?
Last month i played 8 hours less, while typically i play for 40 hours and pay 13 euros, so now i need compensation?
Because down the line, it just comes down to that.
Among the whole month you prolly played a bit less because they had issues with a patch.
And other months you played less because you were bored or reallife kicked in, and you had to visit a birthday from your brother’s neighbour his uncle. And many other social activities.
That’s strange, I can log in just fine, and a quick check on https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-us/game/status/us
Shows that most US servers are still up, did you check if other servers apart from yours are still–
Oh wait, I just realized, you’re just a entitled brat that wants free game-time because the developers were being logical and being like “The game will be so unbalanced if we launch it now, let’s delay it and give them the pre-patch with a bunch of costomizations, the level squish and some added back in abilities for now to tide them other, and soon we’ll release the pre-patch invasion to make it up for them, in the meantime, lets work on covenant abilities, the new slot system and make sure the game is fine-turned for end-game content and balanced in almost all aspects!”
But no, you are being a unruly child and demanding free time, despite being able to still log in, quest, PvP, Roleplay(if that’s your thing) or even just collect transmogs, mounts, hunter and battle pets, toys, ect, ect.
Nope, you think its UNFAIR to not get Shadowlands, despite a pandemic being out there, keeping people sick, destabilizing the world even more then it already is.
You sir, are scum.
Did you even read the post you are reacting to?
Also, this is the EU forums. Not US.
You sir, are an idiot.
I do understand the request, people are paying for something they cannot use, through no fault of their own. The problems are purely down to Blizzard, no one else.
If you look at some real sharks of the online world, take WarGaming for example, they always compensate for downtime with additional premium time (normally the odd day or 2) without being asked.
That said it is only a small amount of money in the grand scheme, but it is about the principal, for a company the size of Blizzard to “compensate” players with a couple of extra days is a drop in the ocean financially, but Activision are in charge now so that won’t happen.
TB.
Unplayable?? Days?? Haven’t had a problem until about 5pm in the evenings, so do I get the free time as well, seeing as I have played it with no problems at all during the early hours of the day?
I understand for some people that every minute counts and not everyone is as lucky as others, self included, where £10 (whatever that is in euros) a month is practically nothing.
So whilst I am all for us getting game time for those who feel hard done by for aforementioned reasons, I personally would rather they just fix the game and communicate the issue better than “we are investigating” every hour.
People calling me whiny yet result to personal insults and acting like I demanded a million dollars from Blizzard . Talk about toxicity. The game wasn’t working at all for the past 2 days. All I said is that giving 2 days of free game time would be a gesture of good will. But yeah sure I am a scum idiot etc. Imagine taking 2 days of deserved game time so personally…
Ah but you see, it was working, just not at certain times of the day, when the login servers were being overloaded, so again, seeing that I have managed to play a fair bit over the stated two days, do I also get the free time, and if so, how is that fair, seeing that I haven’t really missed out?
Didn’t they give us few days after WoD launch fiasco?
